I wonder how they are going to handle future seasons. This season is great.

However, IDK if I could put up with 2 more seasons of kids going up against Pennywise (It: Chapter 1 also included). That would be stale.
I assume this is a miniseries, isn't the next cycle just the movie kids? I guess they can drag this for two seasons but honestly that would be pushing it.

Welcome to Derry is a prequel series to the most recent It movies, Chapter 1 (2017) and Chapter 2 (2019).

The plan is for there to be 2 more seasons after this. So season 2 would be set in 1935 (27 years before season 1) and season 3 would be set in 1908 (27 years before season 2). More info ⬇️

"The first episode of “It: Welcome to Derry” kicks off not just one, but three prospective seasons of television focusing on the eponymous Maine town and the origins of its harrowing clown-curse, series co-creators Andy and Barbara Muschietti tell Variety. “Our big story arc involves three seasons, mainly based on the three critical cycles of Pennywise, which are 1962, 1935 and 1908,” Andy says."

They gonna cover the previous cycles that are referenced in this series in 1908/1935. So expect more kills and backstory for Pennywise.

The 2017/19 movies are perfectly fine and this franchise isn’t the one that needs a film re-do/reboot. So much more in the king bag to be adapted for the first time or re-done before IT
Yep and I dont want Mike to waste his time doing It when that energy can be put towards doing Dark Tower right. From how ppl talk about it, it seems to be some good stories and stuff in it.

Dallas by way of Houston by way of San Antonio

THIS DOESN'T MAKE MUCH SENSE.

NOT ONLY DID THE MOVIES
COME OUT ONLY 6-8 YEARS AGO...
THEYRE CLEARLY HAPPY
WITH THE MOVIES
CONSIDERING THEY'RE
DOING 3 PREQUELS.

I'm a huge Pennywise stan (IT was the first King book I ever read), so I was hyped as hell for the Muschetti movies. Personally, I don't think he stuck the landing, and his scares in the movies felt cheap. While I'm liking this show so far, it sometimes feels like I like it in spite of Andy rather than because of him. So whoever "they" are as far as being happy with the movies, that's all well and good. Hollywood has never been scared to rehash a previously-done story.

Fair point, and hopefully by the time we're on the 3rd season of Welcome to Derry (that would put us around 2030 or so?), Dark Tower will be in full swing on Prime. Flanagan was the first name that came to mind, although Cari Fukunaga also had the juice for bit with the IT movies before the studio bushed him. I think I just want to see someone other than Andy on this.

Been doing a rewatch of Stranger Things and am on the Season 4/Vecna storyline. Forgot how much the Duffer Bros borrowed from IT. Victor Creel's House screams House on Neibolt.

I think I read somewhere that they wanted to do IT but were turned down so they did Stranger Things.

Stranger Things is a Spielberg/King mashup
