Regardless, people say it like Punk and Bryan are done. Knowing good and well that hardly anyone stays in the main event picture for more than 3 months at a time.
Who said Punk was done? He'll be just fine. His buddy Bryan on the other hand, ...:ehh: not so much lol.

nikkas say this like its a life sentence :heh:. shyt, Cena's in the midcard too, but we don't hear wrestlefags constantly complaining about that now do we.
is he really tho? He closing the shows on the European tour right now. He's only taking a backseat on Raw because The McSon in law needs top spot for his :flabbynsick: storyline right now. Once that plays out things will be back to normal :blessed: I take Cena over this trash anyday.

No Cena isn't. He takes a backseat to HHH's angle on Raw, but he's not midcard.

Watching
the problem is Vince wants people to believe more in what is seen than what happens. He wants us to believe that there isn't a non-cheating way for Bryan to beat these big guys and to ignore workrate.

:manny: we keep watching though :sadcam:

Most popular boxers : 147 pound Floyd Mayweather and 140 pound Manny Pacquiao. Heavyweight title fights haven't been a pay per view attraction for a decade.

Most popular mma fighters: 170 lb Georges St Pierre and 185 lb Anderson Silva. Their fights routinely double those of heavyweight title fights.
But they're not fighting heavyweights.

I understand the point but it's not really what I'm arguing....sure the smaller man can be the bigger draw...maybe in wrestling that's all that matters and that should be the end of discussion.

What you're saying is synonymous to me saying....that I enjoyed the Cruiser-weight Division to the Heavyweight Division in WCW. Hell, I DID often prefer the cruiser-weights to the endless NWO fukkery of the heavies....but I don't think that Psicosis should have been given a heavyweight title reign. And it doesn't mean that I think he would have been a mainstream attraction.

The best REAL wrestler in the world is 5'8'' 163 lbs

But he would be too small to get pushed by cokeboy :dead:

He'll lose to many just a division heavier than him....:yeshrug:

I understand that "wrasslin" is...well it goes without saying....fake. And that the "rules" are different and that unlike in MMA, 20 pounds shouldn't make a difference in entertainment.

I'm just playing devils advocate a bit and saying that I do *get* this mentality.

How small are y'all willing to go before even our very healthy suspension of disbelief is shattered? A dude that's 5'5 150 pounds probably has a fantastic work-rate....:whew:

It's not a wrap for the Dazzler. Well, that is if the brain trust in charge at the E plan on putting the WWE title on Bryan at WM. And before that, having HHH tap out to the Yes Lock at the Elimination Chamber ppv. Can you imagine 80,000+ in the Superdome chanting yes if D-Bry wins the title at WM? :banderas: Although something tells me in my gut that this might not be the case because the fukkery is strong.

Ok I can see Vince demoting Bryan if the buyrates were low but even so he could have been champion for months just like CM Punk was last year and not been in the "main event" match at most PPV's if Vince thought he had a better option. Who other than Cena who was injured would have moved numbers like that other than Bryan who was doomed with the booking. All they had to do was keep the title on Orton till Hell in a Cell which still wouldn't have gave him a two month run but since two PPV's were in between it would make DB's chase that more agonizing to watch. Then have him win the feud with Shawn raising his hand which translated to feud with a jealous Big Show or a returning Cena who issues his rematch clause that he never got. Then he could have had a classic 3 PPV feud with CM Punk that culminates in an Ironman match at WM 30. But instead of Vince and company worrying about the long term payoff and benefits of developing new Superstars they are worried about the right now. Which will come back to bite them in the ass the day guys like Cena Orton and Punk decide to hang them up if they keep mismanaging these wrestlers with these bullshyt angles.

Well a 5'6 170 lbs guy was their 2nd biggest draw for a couple of years even though they booked him like complete shyt for most of his run (Rey).

There's no formula for creating a wrestler that's gonna draw. Being tall or big doesn't mean shyt if a guy is not good enough, and even in that case people might not want so spend money on said person. Every wrestling company in history has had waaaay more misses than hits when it comes to finding people that can actually draw, WWE included, and size has never been an important factor when they finally find them.

A whole lot of luck and good booking/promoting when you sense something "special" is happening are the only weapons a company has.

Don't be fooled by WWE's mentality. The big guy fetish comes from the long history of the territory of using bigger than average wrestlers as their main talent but also because they believe (rightfully so IMO) that big guys will be perceived as TV stars or "somebodys"....but that has nothing to do with drawing, they might convince themselves it is but nah, that shyt is completely unpredictable. That's why is so frustrating when they pull the plug so quickly out of someone who doesn't have "the look" they like. They are just limiting themselves and being afraid for no good reason.
