• Fewer than 50% of black families own their own homes, vs. over 70% of whites
• Blacks are denied mortgages and home improvement loans at twice the rate of whites
• Black males mean income is 70% of white males ($16,876 gap), black females mean income is 83% of white counterparts ($6,370 difference)
At the eve of the Civil War Black people owned one half of one percent of the nation's wealth, and in 2014 Black people only own one half of one percent of the nation's wealth
Our poverty rate is twice the national rate. More than 20% of blacks are below the poverty line. We're being killed and incarcerated in mass. Not just now but in the 60s, 70s 80s 90s...
