THe same way a lot of yall feel about Swizz,I cant understand how you don't feel the same way about Neptunes?A lot of they beats aged horribly too,nikkas had the audacity to get rid of Kanye in that "One gotta go" thread,based on wack ass neptunes beats from the early 2000's,shameful day on the coli
And I actually liked yalls debate about when Neptunes run started,cuz from a hiphop perspective I cant really agree with the before 01 thing,but technically he was in demand in the industry prior to 01.....But from a producer standpoint I typically don't count it as a run until people really start noticing you killing shyt
Did Neptunes really establish themselves as fan favorites,where as a fan, if somebody told you it was a Neptunes beat you wanted to hear it?prior to 2001-02?
At least with Swizz he made beats nikkas actually fukked with and wanted to know who produced the song,maybe I'm taking for granted the fact people actually cared who produced the beat for "I just Wanna Love Ya" or "Shake Ya Azz"...I luved the songs but the beats?Damn sure wasn't curious who produced them shyts

Still, The Neptunes run started before 2001 especially when you have people on here that make cases for Mustard, Mike Will, etc. supposedly having legendary runs. Before 2001, The Neptunes had "Lookin' At Me" with Mase and "Superthug" with Nore. They went on to produce "Oh No" for Nore, "I Got Your Money" for ODB and several other songs on that album. By 2000, they were lacing hits for Jay Z, Mystikal, and Ludacris.

Yeah they were...they did both of those Mystikal records in 99/00, Lookin at Me, Superthug...those songs were huge. They were establishing themselves as the next super producers.
