Let's be honest tho, it's not like he's been really actively campaigning for Dwight to come back, he's said "the right things" but it's far from the endorsements he's given Pau in the past for example.

Kobe/The Lakers probably feel like "let's show up so nobody can say that we failed to give it a shot" but it's not like they've made outlandish gestures towards Coward either.

Big difference between gettingng a nikka that isn't already there to come to your team and trying to convince a nikka that has already been there a year and has a $30 mil incentive to remain to stay. I respect Kobe's stance of "It's his decision. You shouldn't have to convince him.". It's beneath both he and the Lakers dignity based on all that has been accomplished and their respective stature in the history of the sport to have to try to convince this nikka to stay.

:patrice:Maybe dwight doesn't give a shyt about the lakers stature in history and would rather play with a younger rockets team with a star who's 23 not 35 and 2 big men in mchale and hakeem who can help improve his game

Dwight said it's about winning and the lakers have no chance of winning a championship now

Nothing wrong with telling him the benefits of staying, but the tweet that Nash sent to Dwight was :scusthov:
There's no way Kobe's personality would allow him to do something like that.

KObe's pride as a bball player is what will make him talk to Dwight Regardless whether he personally likes him or not.

If Dwight's stiff ass ain't improved his offensive game by now then it ain't gonna happen. He's 27. He ain't fresh into the league. His offensive game is lobs when someone pulls his man away and that same stiff ass hook.

I don't get why the lakers don't just give Earl Clark his minutes and put Pau in the post. Dwight was never that dominant to lead a team like Shaq was. He was just athletic as hell.

That doesn't mean the Lakers or Kobe should be bending over for this nikka though.

It doesn't even make a lot of sense for him to beg Dwight to stay. As long as the team shuns rebuilding and tries to push their chips in to win now even though they can't, none of this shyt matters. They're :flabbynsick: with or without Dwight.

Wade recruited lebron to miami, lebron recruited ray allen to miami.Having a good resume don't mean you're above asking a player that can help your team win to come play with you

Chris Paul is currently recruiting oj mayo to join the clippers.

how can the clippers possibly get OJ mayo? after paying CP3 his $20M, there's no more cap space to pay Orenthal.

1 is not like the other 2 :pachaha:

Easier to convince someone to come to LA or Miami. If Wade was in CLE and Lebron in MIA, they still would have ended up in MIA. Cleveland in not an attractive city for free agents in ANY sport or profession for that matter. I have yet to hear of anybody on the coli that has moved to Cleveland, but we have had many move to Cali, Texas, NY, ATL, DC and Miami.

LA has the best of everything for a famous millionaire. The fact that Dwight is considering another city outside of LA tells you how much he hates LA fans, Kobe, management and Pringles.

And this is the lakers biggest problem.

Every franchise has to go through it but they think they don't.

They are "too good" to rebuild. Which will leave them over the cap and not good enough.

Boston is smart, they'll be better off in the long run.

Kobe's damn near synonymous with the lakers at this point and one of the ambassadors for the team..not only is it not "beneath him", it's damn near his obligation as an iconic Laker to help recruit a player that would be a cornerstone of the team's future
