My grand pop did this (god rest his soul)
Can’t help to think at times if my mom and aunt would have been better positioned in life if he prioritised his initial nuclear family smh
Same. Same. Same. Same .Same. Same. My grandfathers on both sides did this sht.same same same same same…fortunately my pops is a decent man…she’s always said in some ways he’s more than a husband and like a brother, father, confidante at times…but ya growing up I remember her lamenting about how she felt about her pops not being there when she was younger…they’re always in touch now…I’ve met him 3x…the 3 sons he did raise are extremely successful as is he but it’s still scumbag shyt bcuz he had my aunt who I grew up knowing (who also grew up w/o him) but he had at least 2 sons that he’s never met that my mom and her aunts were able to track down…one died without even knowing that dude was his father…
…I shouldn’t laugh but to show you how fukked up the shyt is my mother still refers to him occasionally as “uncle _______” bcuz she was raised by his sisters and grew up with his nieces and nephews…absolutely ridiculous shyt smh
Apparently my grandfather did this to my dad and his brother and sisters… left my grandma for a white bytch and took care of her kids.
I never met him, not that I care, and just found out his name last week.![]()

It’s sad that there was a whole generation where this was the norm. I can’t imagine the thought process that goes into it. On my mother’s side, that grandfather fortunately chose my mom’s family and that branch blossomed and everyone had a nice childhood. However, on my dad’s side the other grand father chose the other family. It seriously messed up all my father’s siblings both financially and emotionally. I think it even gave my dad a complex where he lives his own life trying to prove sht to my grandfather, who even today in his mid 80s, couldn’t give a damn about him or his efforts.
But in full disclosure, my grandfather on my dad’s side is honestly one of the coolest dudes I’ve ever seen even in his 80s, I could totally see how he managed to get so many women involved with him.
