It's getting insulting to compare Kendrick and Drake to Cole. Like Cole has become one of the greats

Back when all 3 were first getting started people were trying to position kendrick the new age goat.

Fast forward to now and we see kendrick peaked back then and Cole and Drake keep reaching new heights.

They all have their own strengths for what they do. Cole is better with bars, Kendrick is better with cohesive and thematic albums and Drake is the hit maker. The strengths both Kendrick and Drake have are comparable to Coles. Saying who’s better is all about what strength you value the most out of these three artists.

Kendrick has no bars. He's like one of those Spoken word poets that just talk gibberish and act like they said something profound. Cole has quotables.
lol what’s funny is spoken word poets actually make more cohesive pieces than most rappers. Rappers be stringing together random rhymes to complete a song.

I feel like production was weaker on mm&tbs but don't see how kendrick was worse lyrically like a lot of yall are saying

Songs like father time, count me out, worldwide steppers, and rich spirit are all classic kendrick

The album wasn't really about dropping verses like Cole does on his features. I don't doubt kendrick can easily rap like that. He just had different goals with the album

Kendrick don't strike me as the type to repeat himself. So I can understand why he tried a lot of new things this time around. Don't know what to expect from the next one, but I'm sure he'll win back favor from his detractors

Let’s not forget the last time Cole was on a song with drake :mjpls:

He wasn’t the “face of death” on that feature :mjpls:

When we gonna stop pretending that Kendrick is some super elite rapper? Section 80 was great, GKMC was great…that’s all. Otherwise, him and his alien voice alter ego are not that good
Kendrick is the textbook example of the understated importance of voice in music

It's true that Kendrick has no quotable bars that make nikkas faces ball up. He's not an elite rapper in the typical way that nikkas categorize elite rappers

Kendrick's specialties are his voice and his imagery, most notably his voice(s). After GKMC he went into overdrive with the vocal conviction and variety of voices. If you look at a few of the most impactful rappers over the last decade(Kendrick, Nicki, Young Thug) they're a mystery box of flows and voices

I've made posts on here before that the main reason Dre3K is elevated over Big Boi is because Dre has arguably the GOAT voice.

Your voice is the highest priority in music, and Kendrick's vocal flexibility is a large part of the reason he was elevated to GOAT tier after GKMC

I can’t deny what you’re saying but you’re focusing on “ voice”, that’s most of the problem. I know you don’t mean his literal voice but that alien voice shyt is what ruins most of his music

He doesn't just have alien voice tho, and he's hardly even used it post GKMC
