This is the epitome of going into business for yourself, and the bookers promote it. Wrestling is not meant to be an ambiguous venture. There are supposed to be clear good guys, and clear bad guys. You listen to fan reactions to know which role a talent should be portraying at the time, and good bookers will be so into the viewers' pulse that they can do well timed turns that reflect the fans perception of that talent.

So when Charlotte says she wasn't getting a reaction and she need titles to build herself up, that is her AND THE BOOKERS openly admitting that even though she wasn't ready to be a face, they will try to push it on us anyways. They did eventually do it right by turning her heel and that is how she got her momentum, but that small window at the beginning of those NXT debut runs did waste Sasha's huge support and momentum.

I agree but I also don't agree.

It is true that any reaction is better than no reaction. Even a person who's getting booed out of the building can turn that into a good thing. The problem lies is how Vince & co. respond to those crowd reactions. Will they take someone constantly recieving the loudest cheers and take it as a hint to start pushing them more... will they take a babyface who gets booed and turn them heel as a result? That's what they sometimes seem to be stubborn about. They have sense enough to take a Jason Jordan and obviously start a slow turn that would've been in full swing by now if he hadn't gotten injured... but people have been booing Reigns for three years and they've repeatedly tried to push him as a face anyway. Ever since I started watching, I've seen them make sound decisions most of the time according to how a wrestler is received by the crowd. But the pushes of Cena and now Roman are two of the main things that have stood out as being extremely stubborn on Vince's part. If they were doing this 20 or so years ago, Vince would've kept Stone Cold heel and not cared how much the crowd liked him, and Rock would've been going out there doin' the same happy babyface shyt no matter how much the crowd hated him.
