He'll retire after he scores 40k.
I think he doing the Brady thing, both of them could have long retired with legacy in stone---->Bron coulda retired after the '16 comeback, or after 8 straight Finals in '18, or after getting hurt in LA Y1, or after winning the chip in LA Y2, and would have been set. Brady coulda retired after beating Seattle seven years ago, or after 28-3, or anytime since then and his legacy was already set...
Why these dudes still playing, what else is there to prove?
I think both are pushed by the desire to own every record of significance there is, which enhances their already esteemed legacies. Both are already the GOATs by the bar of, never seen sustained greatness for this long in their sports. They each have plenty of all the major accolades that helps make their GOAT case...
And both, inexplicably, 19 years into Bron's career and 22 years into Brady's, bith inexplicably still have detractors and cases that can be made against them as GOAT...
I really feel like what's driving them is the desire to own all the major records that matter and put them so far out of reach that it'll take another few decades before someone touches them. That has to be it, Bron already the All-Time playoff leading scorer, most Finals appearances ever outside of guys who played for the 60s Celtics; t-4th most championships as a #1 (and really t-2nd most since 1970, it's Mike then Bron/Duncan); t-3rd most MVPs; 2nd most FMVPs; has won a scoring title, assist title, on and on and on...
He's done everything there is to do, so I feel like the motivation has to be to hold all the major records and put them all outta reach. Has to be...
No matter how people try to spin it, dude has lived up maybe even surpassed some of the hype they had for him come out of high school
Bruh he's greatly surpassed it. Muhfukkas knew he had All-Time potential, we all thought he'd win a title or two, win an MVP or two, and be a perennial All-NBA and All-Star for a good stretch, a decade would have sufficed...
No one predicted 10 Finals appearances or 4 chips coming outta high school, no one predicted him still playing elite ball 19 years in, no one saw him becoming the All-Time playoff leading scorer or approaching the regular season record, or becoming very arguably the most clutch, big game playoff performer in NBA history...
No one saw any of this shyt to this magnitude, he's exceeded expectations by leaps and bounds...
Never seen a stanbase obsess over a grown man so much

.
nikka stop lying, act like Michael Jordan or Kobe Bryant Stans don't exist brehs hahahahaha...
But he isnt a "pure" scorer lmao...
