And still somehow only has 4 rings :mjlol:

"Only" as if it's easy to win 4. Won more as the best player on championship teams than ALL your favorite players unless it's Mike---->nikkas padding extra titles as #2s (bunch of guys), diminished stars (Kareem, Duncan), or role players (Kawhi) doesn't have the same quantification as being the best player on the squad that wins it all, period...

Stop it...

I said Duncan, look at my previous posts. No one will ever win 10+ titles again, may never win 6+ again, The League is just too different now. That kind of individual dominance won't happen and was unique to the eras in which they came..the.

We may see another guy win 5 as a #1 again but it hasn't happened since Mike's 5th in '97, that was a quarter-century ago. Pro basketball is just way too advanced and the talent pool is too deep and spread out and competitive to see that again, but by the time we see the next guy win 5 as a #1, it'll be 30+ years removed from the last time we saw it. It's an anomaly...

All that is the backdrop to my point, since Russell retired in '69, which was 53 years ago, we've seen THREE players win 4 or more titles as the best players on a championship team:

1. Mike with 6
2. Bron and Duncan with 4

That's in over 5 decades of ball played since Bill's exit. So people saying he "only" won 4, Bron won all 4 as his squads best player, no #2 or #3 option, no role player status, no old man along for the ride shyt, winning those 4 as The Guy is much more significant than anybody else's #2 or role player chip, in a historical sense. Aint no one considering Pippen's 6 championships as equal in value to any of Bron's 4 in any real basketball discussion, and we all know it....

Russell was the C's best player during the 8 in a row from 1958-66, and Mikan was the best player on all 5 of his championship teams, but both these dudes accomplished that in the sports infancy, during the first 20 years of history. Winning 8 titles will never happen again and winning certainly 8 or maybe 5 as a #1 aint happening again. You separate those two, there's only been 3 guys to get to 4 and honestly Duncan should be held in higher regard on the strength of that than many others held in front of him...

magic prob all 5

duncan didnt even win finals mvp the 4th ring let alone 5th

No, Magic was the best player for the '85, '87, and '88 teams, but '80 and '82 Kareem was probably the best player in basketball period, certainly the best player in LA!

I mean let’s look at this one a little closer Shannon, ok I got it…

:skip:
Deep exhale: Whfooo

Alright. :skip:

Kareem had to GET the ball for crying out loud! Every team LBJ has put on the uniform for HES been primary ball handler! I mean c’mon! I’d score 30 a game if I was a forward playing the 1! My Spurs were number one in offensive efficiency for a decade and yet Michael Jordan wouldn’t leave the game with heat cramps! Your guy, Mr. Phony GOAT could never!

:skip:
:dead:
Dudes act like a thread costs a rack in bandwidth
im sayin :heh:
