It's official: Game of Thrones is the most hurtful entertainment experience I've ever had.

Likewise :damn:

Forget rewatching the show. It'll take me some time before I'm ever able to read the books again for that matter, and I usually read them all once or twice a year.

Came close to changing my name on here too :picard:

I’m reading ASOIAF for like sixth time and I’m going to continue to read it until I get those last two books.

I'm with you breh.

2014ish I was a certified GoT stan. Recommending it to everyone that would listen, digesting half a dozen different podcasts, rewatching shyt all the time.

It's despicable what D&D did to that shyt. Somehow they made me dislike all of my favorite characters (at least the ones that didn't die in the early seasons) and ruined the rewatchability of the good seasons. I can't even take any storyline in season 1-5 dealing with the White Walkers serious anymore.

I feel bad for recommending it to so many people :mjlol:

I'm a Mass Effect stan, too and I still enjoy that series and can replay it despite the ending (Citadel DLC makes up for a lot of it). But GoT as a show is forever bushes status for me now.

I'm still interested in the book series though.

Was expecting it, since no drama imo has had more than 5 greatish seasons so im not too mad. Just like with The Last Jedi, people need to get over it not going the way they wanted or expected. I dont even really blame the writers of the show since Bran being the king is Georges call.

I’m glad I didn’t get into this one. A final season as phoned in and rushed as this one sounded would’ve left a horrible taste. 13 episodes over the last 2 seasons instead of the 10 per that the first 6 got screams the writers just wanting to be done. I still blame George for only writing one book in the 8 years since the show began. It shouldn’t take that long to write a book.

How long has it been since the end of Season 8?

4-5 months?

I STILL cannot go into a GOT thread, Reddit post, series or episode breakdown, lore video and anything related to GOT...Season 8 was so uncaringly bad, it ruined the entire experience.

I was a guy who played the history of GOT all day while at work, listenes to podcasts, debated plots and theories on the Coli and with friends, and connected with like minded fans from older white women to dudes on the block debating if John Snow was the Prince that was promised...

All all that effort and fun was squashed because two directors got a bag to do a movie I don't think people really even care about in this era (I could be wrong.)

I almost feel like my girl cheated on me or something...because I have no desire not only to learn or read anything GOT related, but I'm wary of diving that deep into any media like that ever again, until it's over and done.

Y'all feel the same?

Nope, the book is the real game of thrones to me.

1st 4 seasons are the greatest thing I’ve erlebte season. Season 5 was a dip in quality but season 6 was a return to form. Battle of the b*stards & Winds of Winter are 2 of my favorite episodes ever.

The last 2 seasons were so terrible IMO. I went to Croatia in July and they had GoT tours and shyt and I had no desire to do any of that stuff because those last 2 seasons completely killed any of my enthusiasm for any GoT related content.
