WHY NEGROS ACTING LIKE ROSE DIDNT HAVE GAMES LIKE THIS LAST YEAR?

HE HAD 3 30 POINT GAMES IN THE PLAYOFFS,
AND NUMEROUS VINTAGE GAMES IN THE REGULAR SEASON.

I was under the impression he was going to come back looking like he did in the Playoffs... specifically against the Bucks to start this season.

OTHER PLAYERS HAVING BIGGER ROLES...

NIKO TOOK 5 SHOTS LAST NIGHT...

ROSE CANT BE A VINTAGE ROSE/WESTBROOK TYPE PLAYER
IF WE WANT OTHERS TO TAKE THE NEXT STEP.
THERES NOT ENOUGH SHOTS TO GO AROUND
FOR HIM TO PLAY LIKE THAT ON A NIGHTLY BASIS.

HES GONNA SAVE IT FOR THE BIG GAMES
AND LET OTHERS GET OFF AGAINST THE BUM TEAMS.

CLEVELAND AND OKC ARE HIS 2 HIGHEST SCORING GAMES
AND HIGHEST SHOT ATTEMPTS.
NOT A COINCIDENCE.

PRIME ROSE AVERAGED 20 SHOTS A NIGHT...
NOW JIMMY NIKO AND PAU
ARE IN HIS STARTING 5.

I've taken that into account but still... nikka was putting up 4 and 5 point games. That caught me off guard completely.

Just want him to be a 17ish and 7-8ast per game type of player this season in the reg season, and then turn it up a notch in the postseason.

I think once his face is healed and his double vision stops he will be more aggressive. Now he's just treading the waters. I want to see gasol with the rock more

I want him to be a 18 & 8 guy on 46-48% FG

I think hes gonna get to that point too, especially with him abandoning the 3pt shot

Derrick still has his 1st step, but it seems like he doesnt have the same explosiveness at the rim when defenders are there

but that's how he played last season. Didn't give a shyt until it was a big game. For every shytty game he had last season, he'd stunt on teams like the Blazers (Lillard), Spurs (Parker) and the Warriors (Curry)

different in that aspect, yeah, he is trying to play smarter in low profile games, but I'm just saying he won't be trying to put it all on the floor unless it's against real competition

That's my point gawd

I don't think dudes questioned whether or not he can get up for these games, but it's whether or not he can maintain reasonable amounts of effort/aggression throughout all types of games. The whole let the rest of the team cook against lesser opponents is fine in theory, but besides Jimmy, everybody else is limited in what they can do. All the schedule spots, teams hitting form and teams having near-equal (or more) talent, there aren't going to be too many games where he can just sit back and expect the team to generate offense for themselves, and expect to win.

Like it's been said, it's still far too early in the season to start walking down one path. I guess we'll have to wait and see over a more generous amount of games.

I don't really mind Derrick being passive throughout the regular season if it means he can keep himself healthy for the playoffs ()

But we just know he'll bring it on nights when he's facing an elite PG just to remind people he's still around

Bein sayin this the past few days but folk weren't tryin to hear it

Some of u don't no how to separate being ' consistent ' and how that differs from losing your talent level .. As @CHICAGO mentioned this kid can't do it himself he needs his team mates to continue to grow and he has to incorporate them more by doing so ..



The fact he puts up these efforts consistently against other upper echelon players against the biggest teams on the biggest stage shows the kid still has it ..

Would we like him to do it every night sure but what for ..rose has been saying all season the personal accolades don't matter to him he wants to see his team win and be that team player

The kid gets 'stoned ' by the media as a shoot first PG when he jacking shots

And then when he playing team ball / distributing he is never gonna be elite again

As I said past week ..he hasn't had a pre season is learning a new system and has a busted face

And after 4 games people were hangin him out to dry ..

Not being aggressive/not taking shots and incorporating one's teammates more aren't mutually exclusive. You open up the game more for your teammates when you're aggressive and looking for your shot. Not sitting back and letting your team try to create for themselves - this team doesn't have the talent nor ball handlers in order for him to do that. I don't expect him to have a superhuman performance every game, yet there shouldn't be a contrast in games like that and ones where he scales his game right back; leaving the Bulls in a hole on offense.

I agree he has to find that medium ( which he did especially well before the MCL last year ) ..my point wasnt directed just @ u ..its a general statement in regards to seeing people comment on ' rose ' that he is washed or doesn't have the skill set to compete with the best in the league anymore -

without taking into account we were 4 games into the season ,new system - his eyesight/face injury and no pre season or conditioning .

Along with the track record he put up in the playoffs after the MCL and those marquee match ups .

You can't throw someone skills set or talent in tbe trasb can ,if in everyone of these games they have matched or outplayed there opponent - The proof is there ..
