“Still the same,” Rose said. “Just happy we are winning games; putting every game behind me and keep working out and it will catch up one day.”

But Rose was effective drawing the defense and passing, Gasol getting most of his open looks on Rose passes and Butler and Rose a virtual mutual admiration society. In fact, Butler credited Rose for being able to break out with a six for 10 shooting second half.

“That’s all to my point guard,” said Butler. “Derrick telling me to stay aggressive, keep shooting. I know how hard I work at this game; he knows how hard I work at this game. That’s huge, him being a brother to me, a leader of this team, telling me to stay aggressive, keep going, don’t stop shooting open shots and it will turn around.”

“I wanted him to shoot more,” acknowledged Rose. “He still didn’t shoot enough for me tonight. But it’s what, the eighth, (ninth) game, still working on it; he’ll get there.”

Clear as day that Rose and Jimmy, as the de-facto leaders of this team, have a mutual understanding that Jimmy is going to try to hold the fort down as Rose continues to try to be patient & wait for his vision to clear up.... Rose obviously still isn't right. His eyes are still uneven and he's still wearing that fukked up ugly ass mask. Some days his vision is better than other days, which explains the inconsistency.... He's been consistently however playing the point guard role each game (even when he dropped 29 on OKC) largely using himself as a decoy to get others involved when he just don't got it going.

Obviously, we all want him to be a 100% as soon as possible, but like Fred said when asked why he's playing if he isn't a 100%? "This team is simply better with him on the court".

I pray to God that Mask is gone by the Warriors game tho. Them dudes are on some other shyt :mjkuficry:.

The team will go as far as jimmy and rose carry it

But I'm concerned with our rebounding especially on the offensive glass and the defense.

Normally the road trips builds our chemistry and we much better when we come back from the trip. So hopefully the west helps us grow more.

Ehh I read that earlier. Hes a bad defender, buts its not going to "kill the team". Thats silly

Hes also been absolutely lights out offensively.

Its also too early to be looking at advanced defensive stats

I generally agree with this dudes response below:

He's a really bad defender
But I still think it’s a little early in the season to imply that the statistical atrocity that is his NetRtg is a sign that he’s killing the whole team. His OffRtg has been terrible pretty much all season, through no real fault of his own, and that’s contributing to it. We’re also at a point where Brooks is sporting a cool 88.6 DefRtg despite being basically as inept and even physically more disadvantaged than McD. Hell, McD had a DefRtg of 93 until they played the Hornets.

He needs to work on it, get more intuitive and aware, but we’re still at a point in the season where one good or awful performance could modify his entire rating by 5 points.

I really wish we could see what a Noah/McD/Niko/Rose/Butler lineup could do.

Its not good to start a player like that if youre trying to build a new identity :yeshrug:

Is Doug McDermott trash? It's a question I'm going to need you to think long and hard about.

HAHAHAHAHAHA @ this being the opening lines to this article. Which one of you dudes are Ricky O' Donnell? This has me dying.

To be perfectly honest actually watching the games, Niko's insistence on switching EVERY damn pick play that he's involved in - even if the original defender happens to fight over the pick and get back in position, he still switches onto the man like he's some sort of defensive savant causing all sorts of havoc & confusion - has stuck out more to me than Doug's mishaps on D in the 20 minutes that he's averaged this season.

Just want to say for the record I didn't post that article because I fully agree with its premises, just wanted to know what the fam thought about it.

Im very happy with what we're getting from Doug. Hes shooting #'s arent sustainable though, hes gonna eventually go thru a stretch where he isnt hitting 60% of his 3s

You can tell he put work into his body this summer, he just needs to become a smarter defender. Luckily with Jimmy he'll always be able to guard the other teams lesser wing

In a vacuum Doug's defense wouldn't be that bad; the problem is starting him with two other lackluster defenders. As long as Doug, Gasol, and Niko start we will at best be trading baskets with opposing teams.

Yea, teams are going right after them and they put rose but especially jimmy in a position where he needs the help after getting beat or around a pick and the recovery is not there with those 3 on the floor. I was ok for the spacing with niko and pau with snell on the floor to help with defense. But if niko is going to keep shooting like shyt, and if mcdermott is going to be bad at defense, maybe it's time for some changes in the starting line up.

@Gambino I Like how he mentioned he wasn't trying to use that as a excuse today ..

@ least he been finding his team mates and his turnovers are down .. guess the vision can't be 'too bad' :jawalrus:
