This is great advice. You can really differentiate yourself from other applicants by doing this.

Indeed, the recruiters like it when someone does their research and when someone mirrors there brand values. I learnt this when I was volunteering at the job centre(unemployment office)

I read your story and imagine if you didn’t even get those types of jobs you were talking about? ( like retail or warehouse)

Some jobs really don’t be hiring and now I’m just thinking about how people can get messed up so easy if no job calls back.

Then you think, even if you did take a shytty job, what if you don’t get a call back and you’re stuck there miserable? There’s gotta be a way to fight that shyt.

You ain't lying some jobs don't be hiring, and I simply ask myself "WHAT DA fukk ARE THESE GUYS LOOK FOR THEN" nowadays over here in England employees only want someone with experience though there are folks with experience that are still unemployed. I can imagine one would be hella miserable if they took a shyt job that they are stuck in due to desperation. I was fortunate enough to live with my parents at the time when I was in my early 20s without kids n shyt, though had the circumstances been different I'd be living by myself or raising a family, I for sure would have taken a warehouse or factory job. I agree there needs to be a way to fight this shyt, what do you think could be done?

Why are people on the coli the only few that make it?
I can't speak on the other people but I started at the helpdesk and I had to have a BS and two certs before I got that position. Most of my coworkers were working on their degrees still. So like I said its possible but you have to know your stuff and out perform other races.

You only get stuck if you give up. Never stop learning and improving you skills. And never stop trying to improve your situation.

Like you said it is what it is. I just try my best to help out my fellow black folks when I can. Cause I know how hard it is to get a shot and how the other races try to treat us in the work place.

I'm lowkey offended :gucci:
I had 1 interview that I didnt get
Another phone interview where I was dodnt make it past the hiring manager

And a bunch of recruiters telling me to reply confirm and never following back up

I'm like goddamn these are jobs that pay around the same slightly above low wage that I make now and I've done it before

Pretend to be gay and they'll hire you in a heartbeat

I honestly don’t know, the only options I could think of for individuals is to not have any debt, have a savings, and to build a skill that people will pay them for, and also if they have to work shytty jobs, if they have to.

shyts crazy tho, when people buy things, get places to stay, get credit cards, cars, go to school, etc.

No one ever thinks that they Willa never have a job to pay those things back, then the debt gets you.

Idk how this happens where getting a retail job is even difficult.

Wish I knew this before I took out student loans:
