A Coli breh said this in the Nipsey thread in the Booth on Sunday night. @Marc Spector
Nipsey Hussle Has Passed Away -RIP

Of all the posts in that thread, that's the statement that has stuck in my mind the past few days b/c it's just so sad that it's true.

Like its surreal to me that the American Black Male has so much of his fate intertwined with guns.

I don't even need to say anything more on it, you can just stop and think about it yourself.

It's not just an American Black male thing -- nor Culture thing.

I would check out the stats. Gun violence is a major issue globally and needs to be halted.

I'm just talking about Black men, how much we glorify guns(mainly thru rap music) and the amount of damage it's done to our communities which are already behind the 8ball to start with.

I really do believe those stories about the govt dropping boxes of weapons in urban communities decades ago.

No, I get you. It's an issue. I just hate when it's dropped on Black men in America. A lot of shyt is placed on them by everyone -- it's always Black American males -- and they are made to think it's just them. And it's placed on their said "culture."

This is a global issue -- but in the States it has been an issue for a minute - and the thing is -- it's bigger than music or glorification.
