had to bring the series to this site.

really a rapper cant end another rapper's career unless theres inner-shenanighans involved. either that, or the rapper was just vulnerable to begin with.

people say that 50 turned the people against ja but really, nobody turned on jarule except commercial heads. what people forget is that he was already the most hated rapper in the game before his beef with 50 became publicized to the mainstream. all jarule had left at the time were casual/fickle/commercial fans. i'd say that 50 benefited alot just by coming out dissin jarule and making it seem like he was anti-jarule and here to save hip-hop from the r&b/rap tunes that dominated the airwaves at the time.

i predicted about a year beforehand that somebody is gonna diss the f*ck out of jarule and hes gonna lose alot of money. i didnt think he was gonna take as big of a fall as he did but i didnt expect the whole interscope machine to chit on jarule either. and thats what really really did it.

couple that with murder inc being shook to do or say much because of the chit with the feds and it made things even worst.

i'd say that 50 benefited off jarule, moreso than killing him.

its funny how Interscope is under Universal just like Def Jam so its almost like stopping potential income from themselves.

the Eminem connection helped 50 a lot in the mainstream

as did eventually In Da Club

in general though I agree with your point, rappers can't really end careers unless they use a cultural pivot that their target was already vulnerable to

:what:

50 finished dude....if 50 was shot and killed...jah might still be relevant now...

yea his fans were fickle...pop artist etc.. but they weren't going against him until 50 and the great white hope when at him...

funny thing is that was probably his downfall...thinking he could end legit careers....or just being an attention whore :yeshrug:

his highest highs were caused from beef and so were his lowest lows...

The Passage of Time
And just for the record.

No artist ends another artist career. Entertainment especially Music audience shift all the time.

Ice Cube Said this a long time ago and it has been an accurate statement, in his bluster towards MC Hammer.

"There will be a new nikka next year" and their always is or will be.

A lake near Tampa FL
Ja Rule had two hit songs after that beef (New York and Wonderful).

That New York New York song had 50 like :wtb: and then he dissed all three of them nikkas on Piggybank, Jada and them other LOX nikkas ethered him on several different songs after that

Ja was hated in 03 but once he dropped that New York song all was forgiven. :yeshrug:

Its crazy as 50 nearly got Ja Ruled' back in 05 when he was beefing with Game/LOX/Fat Joe/Nas etc.

I remember Fat Joe clowned him at the MTV Awards during that time period.

"I feel so safe in here because of all this security thanks to G unit. :heh:

Fat joe did deliver that classic moment lol....it does take the fans being ready to turn on a nikka to end a career....its possible to end a rappers career as we know it tho...he had hits after but u could never look at ja the same again no matter what he did...that's the best u can ask for with a diss...is to change the way u look at a rapper forever....Tip did end lil flips shyt tho :laff: but the tide wuz turning on him to....I think Lil Wayne might be at that point now if sumbody relevent like Jay decided to drop that bomb on his azz.

50 & Supreme ended Ja Rule & Murder Inc. Gotti wanted to align himself with gangsters and it backfired.

Man that mix tape was something special, that was the moment the whole of aftermath turned on murder inc not just G unit.
