So what you saying is that rampant unemployment , drugs and street gangs that are glorified and the lack of a future are not the problem but small isolated cases of whites killing blacks are the true enemy of the working poor black people of the world ? Instead of educating and fixing the community up we should arm ourselves against the chance of whites attacking us? Better yet we should go on the attack and form armies to take back the nation. We need a navy also to hold the shores. I bet you the type of guy just to lead us right from your computer screen. This is fukking moronic but it better than working and being educated I guess.
Why can't we have it all? Why can't we work on black health, black education, and black defense, all at the same time? Ideally, these things would all work under the same movement...as they did under the Black Panthers as other posters have pointed out.
And enough with the reductionist crap. People only use that shyt against the black community...no other movement is ever told "WHAT ABOUT X" like we are. It's stupid. Aside from being able to walk and chew bubble gum at the same time as I and others already talked about....it's also condescending towards our sensibilities and undermines the HUMAN aspect of any force that wants cultural change.
You could literally shut down any movement with an appeal to something "worse".
Why are you worried about Black Americans when there are Black Africans in dire situations? Why are you worried about African poverty when global warming is ruining the planet? Why are you worried about global warming, when we know that Heat Death is eventually going to destroy the universe?
See what I mean? Where does it fukking end? It doesn't, and that's why it's a worthless position. We can only account for our own sensibilities and our own feelings. We're humans like everyone else. Yeah, we have other issues in our community right now....but if social justice is what's really moving people, than that's simply what's moving people, and outsiders need to stop trying to interfere.
Lastly, and I almost forgot this even though it's apparent....you make it seem as though black people aren't concerned about
"drugs and street gangs" (LMFAO, is this 1992?). This is yet another shytty aspect to that argument...people just ignore entire aspects of reality to fit some sort of agenda. Black folks BEEN concerned about the issues in our community. There is no single issue in our community that goes ignored (And coincidentally/sadly, we can thank white folks for that). This kind of ties in with the overarching point that we can walk and chew but...yeah, we've got the whole street gang thing covered partner, now lets talk about how we can better protect ourselves.
A cac? 93% of murders of black people were perpetuated by other black people, but you goofy ass dudes are talking about making armies because of Michael Dunn.
People who say this are missing the point.
It's not about trying to win some all out war against America...that's impossible, for anyone.
Nor is it necessarily JUST about protecting ourselves against those (admittedly) rare instances where we actually need a weapon.
Above all else, a rise in Black Gun Ownership would send a CLEAR MESSAGE to outside groups that we have had enough of this bullshyt and that the next dude you think you are going to "Stand Your Ground" against might just be packing some heat of his own.
You ever notice how there are all these stories and articles written about how, as soon as Barack was elected, gun ownership SOARED across white America? Why do you think that is? And what message do you think that whites are collectively sending to non-white groups? They are trying to put some fear into us. "Know your place". "The old guard is still here". The majority of those owners will never have to use their weapons....but they are being given a greater protection : Symbolism.
You honestly don't believe that if there were stories and evidence of Black Armament that we would benefit from that?
