Now don’t get me wrong.
I’m sure your air fryer is getting a lot of use.
It’s a very convenient appliance. And I have one myself.
But it just seems to me that this whole thing was just a marketing ploy.
There’s nothing special about an air fryer.
It isn’t actually frying anything.
An air fryer is just a convection oven.
And we’ve had convection ovens for 50-60 years. But I guess it’s cooler to sell the name “air fryer” to the public than it is to sell “convection”
It feels like a lot of old reliable items are being repackaged or reimagined to make more money.
For thousands of years a mop was just fine. You bought it. It lasted a long time. Now you got a damn swiffer. And you have to buy sheets every few weeks.
What’s next?

I use my air fryer to cook steak. By far the best steaks I've ever made.
It is just a convection oven. but convection ovens have always been the best type of oven.
But me personally i'd rather convert my entire stove to that than get a lil air fryer on the countertop
