It’s time to admit that the air fryer was just top tier propaganda.

brussel sprouts out the air fryer :banderas:
I have actually had really delicious Brussels sprouts at a restaurant once.

That said, Brussels sprouts are an abomination and a crime against humanity.

It’s up there with quinoa and asparagus as foods that people pretend to like but eat once every 9 years.

Now don’t get me wrong.
I’m sure your air fryer is getting a lot of use.
It’s a very convenient appliance. And I have one myself.

But it just seems to me that this whole thing was just a marketing ploy.

There’s nothing special about an air fryer.
It isn’t actually frying anything.

An air fryer is just a convection oven.
And we’ve had convection ovens for 50-60 years. But I guess it’s cooler to sell the name “air fryer” to the public than it is to sell “convection”

It feels like a lot of old reliable items are being repackaged or reimagined to make more money.

For thousands of years a mop was just fine. You bought it. It lasted a long time. Now you got a damn swiffer. And you have to buy sheets every few weeks.

What’s next?

:unimpressed:
It’s a faster oven

There is a definite difference in the texture it generates compared to a convection oven. Thats why I thought it was a scam first because the tech is older than old but the way its put together (along with the no preheat) definitely changes the way food comes through.

That and the convenience plus it comes in handy when you're cooking a lot and need a bit more room to prep with. My regular oven gets virtually no use these days so props to the Coli on that one as that big ass thread of people cheffing changed my mind.
Where’s that thread I’m a bit :flabbynsick: on this
