Then stop worrying about EVERY black person's problems and focus on your own. Everyone wants to make a global impact when changes in their immediate family or neighborhood is just as effective and beneficial to us as a whole. Stop waiting for everyone to get on board BEFORE you start doing anything. Just do your shyt for you and if people want to help or join, let them but don't get mad if they don't.

The problem in this thread is people skipping over Dr Anderson using the word Unless. He clearly laid out solutions the video wasn't all defeat like folks are reacting to it. Then you got dudes in here saying "Well he Should've said"...... negro please He said it right the first time. Just because you disagree doesn't qualify you to correct him unless you've been putting in the same decades of work for black people as Dr. Anderson.

listened this morning on my commute.

i totally understand Dr andersons frustration. the majority of blacks in america are finished, simple as that. the sad part is that it's willful for the most part. There are things that can be done to offset or neutralize the system of racism white supremacy, but blacks refuse to unite and act as a collective.
blacks cant even not have sex with whites how can you expect things to change?

america feeds off of the low self esteem of black people, which drives this capitalistic society.

i'm in a group chat with 2 friends. we talk about bullshyt etc etc, but during that push of black banks i tried to engage them in convo about it and dead ass was met with silence or passive comments.

this weekend they were going mad hard about the retro 1's that came out. yesterday my boy said he got 2 pairs, n my homegirl said she got her pair. plus they were going to the kanye concert. before any of you even come at me saying I'm hating i make more than both of them and passed on the j's and yeezy concert . the point is that most blacks are content with how things are. they expect everyone else to change racism, but won't do anything on their own. i literally could not convince them to even move SOME money to a black owned bank, yet they exercise such diligence and fortitude for sneakers and concerts...both from people who dont give one fukk about the black community and actively work against us. i said to them idk how ya'll financially support this clown kanye and my friend said u have to separate the art from the artist :snoop:

with that said it will take a strong but small group of forward thinking, non bending black folks who cant be bought out to change things...and it's going to happen. the earth will restore balance and their weapons or technology can't save them.
How do you expect to find those people if you guys keep "giving up" every other day? No offense to you, but based on what you typed you need to take your ideas and engagement OUTSIDE of those people you call your friends. They clearly aren't feeling it. Find some that are :manny: When your efforts about uplifting black culture become apart of your life, you don't wait until you're around certain people to discuss it. It's apart of your everyday conversation and that's how you find people on the same page, not constantly drumming it into your friends until it becomes awkward or you get frustrated. I talk every morning with one of the teachers at my daughter's school about "us" and we recently had input from another parent.

Claude Anderson never had the answers. His economics are too myopic.

I'm bout to get my ramble on but...

I agree with his diagnosis of black ppls problems but they're always framed under the ideas of a capitalist free labor market. Economist are even unsure as to whether this framework is even sustainable in the foreseeable future...

The problem is he wants people to move in a monolithic group as if everyone is the exact same, and of course he will be disappointed, he is hoping for the impossible.

Instead of hoping for the possible, might be better to move towards something more tangible like getting rid of the set policies whites have implemented that continue to push blacks out of the market and hamper the lower classed blacks from moving out of that realm on their own. Or attacking the war on drugs, foreign wars, militarized police, and etc.

Just my opinion based off listening to the video for 15 min.

I agree but for allot of black ppl this means supporting the democratic party and whoever they shove in our faces....

It's frustrating because I really feel its an issue of reaching the masses of black people who just don't have access to anything empowering, but media is the fifth floor in his plan and we'be yet to master the foundation...

:yeshrug:Its no over. Black folks just need to learn to be ruthless and cutthroat to other races, c00ns and not eachother. Gotta learn how to play the corruption game. Everyone else do it but for some reason you got some black folks thinking most these thriving groups do it honestly. Especially that Detroit plan, he should have just did it and said fukk the rest. We need real black politicians that ain't scared of a fight ,getting dirty and blacklash.:manny:

EXACTLY!!

fukk what all those other people were saying. Let the fukking chinese give jobs to the black youth in Chinatown then if that's the case and give us some of that egg fried rice money, since it's "wrong". I'm disappointed in the black folks in Detroit who just gave in without a fight.

Stop letting other people play on your sensibilities, because while you're compromising to save their feelings, they're telling you all this shyt then turning around and using YOUR money to send their children to colleges and universities while your own kids barely have a pot to piss in.

I posted this video in another thread. Really listen to what this Asian guy is saying about black people from 8:43 - 14:19. I mean REALLY listen to him:

^^^^^These are the same people telling you that you're wrong for building up the wealth for your own community exclusively. I know this show was aired in the UK but the same applies in the states because I've heard other races say the same thing about AAs. I'm going to use this video as a teaching point for black folks on that kumbaya shyt.

Personally, I'm at the point now where if you are against black economics as a black person, then I don't want anything to do with you at all. :francis:

i agree, but before i look outside of my circle, I'm gonna let ppl know where i stand, and what my priorities are.

i dont think i ever said i quit or give up or even felt discouraged...just that i understand his frustration. like i said everyone cant be saved, won't be saved, or even want to be saved. so i agree with you. my circle has expanded and I am building with like minded individuals, but of course you want the people you care about to get on board. I'm just grateful that my family is not on some c00n shyt and are pretty focused on what we need to be doing as a collective.

@VegasCAC is right. There is no way we can survive if the world doesn't help us end white supremacy but we can't end white supremacy if our focus collectively isn't ending systematic white supremacy.

Being white, I can tell you that white people dont know why they have privilege over anyone. They think it's natural or just don't think about it. Education on the root of inequality is key. I can tell you that from personal experience: I was ignorant until I studied these things, and then my perspective changed. I see no reason why that can't happen with others on a wider scale, for at least college-educated whites. It is possible.

Black people by nature of white supremacy and continued oppression are structurally inhibited from rising as a collective to pull themselves up by their bootstraps. I don't think it has much to do with fear as it has to do with education and understanding of the structural implications of the state of Black America. It's not common for anyone to fully grasp these concepts in a meaningful way. And even if they did, wealth is so differentiated and the gap is so large that self-contained economic strategies are insufficient to ameliorate it from a purely mathematical standpoint.

Of course, I'm not implying that changing white hearts and minds is something that the black community is responsible for. A revolution of understanding the implications of privilege has to come from within. Which is why aware white people need to spread the message and become organized.
You are under estimating the percent of white supremacist exist in your community. 90% is a low estimate

I've been low income for a long time, trust me this is nothing new, the same blacks who are pro black, if they have education and I don't do trust me they won't talk nore deal with me at all, he's right and it's the reason I don't take most pro black shyt seriously, it's money, especially with al these bed-wenches out there the issue is money, he's completely right. women issues have no place to be discussed with men, you cant even compare, oprah and marth Stewart I'll even say Hillary Clinton are a rare breed, most women desire no part of such a demanding, pressuring life, they wanna sit in a nikka benz, pop out a few kids and chill and watch tv, they don't even desire big bucks, get a little job, look pretty and they happey. the media likes to confuse us with pointless gender based bullshyt, at least fox news don't fall for that shyt cuz they know these hoes ain't shyt but some p*ssy and if your money right they fukk. Fox don't entertain that shyt at all, they got the right idea.
