Those youth,grew up...

KRS is almost 50 years old and still rapping, there isn't this cutoff age for when you can't fukk with rap anymore.

atleast KRS understands that the youth will dictate what's gonna be popular, and that at some point, you have to fall back and accept that things you're into and grew up on aren't gonna be at the forefront.

yea it wasnt a diss its just i thought that the spirit of hip hop was for the youth

nikkas was breakdancing, tagging, boom boxes, gold dookie rope swag
fresh ass parties

how can you outgrow your youth? lol

I agree. If you don't like hip-hop anymore that's fine. But hip-hop is my culture, my life, until I'm old and gray, I will always be a hip-hopper. I like other genres of music, just because I came up on everything, from Punk Rock, to 80's new wave, to House/Electronic, to 60 and 70's funk and R and B. But ultimately I am a hip-hopper and will always love the music despite my issues with the genre. I came up in the Golden Age but there are plenty of good artist today, whether commercial or underground that people of my ilk can get down with. I don't mean to be sanctimonius but honestly I feel that if hip-hop was just a phase or something you outgrow, you were never really about it, and that's just me.

Its like dudes feeling like they need to announce they out grew rock, heavy medal, or reggae. It is what it is, no need to make an announcement. Just keep it moving.
