To the topics almost sounding identical on every track![]()
This shyt is beyond bad.
Most artist second album sound better because their more comfortable but this nikka![]()
this album is amazing. So as one of the people who gave one of the first opinions on this album, I just heard it clearly on bornsinner.com and hearing it like that sonically makes the album better. The first run through I probably paid more attention to his lyrics. Lyrically, he's still a notch down from where he was circa FNL. However, this is genuinely a good album and cohesive. Like I said last time around, if you're a Cole fan, you have nothing to complain about. But I don't know if it'll make you a believer if you don't like him.
It's one of those albums without a "great" song (maybe the first one or Let Nas Down which you all seem to hate just based on what it represents) but it doesn't have a "bad" moment either. It's just a good album and all of the songs fit that description too. Definitely an improvement over the first one, but a song like Breakdown off his first album is better than just about every song on this album. It's also definitely "mood music." I feel like it lacks "pick and play tracks no matter the occasion" besides perhaps the two singles.
Good effort though Cole. I think his sales will surprise people. Very cohesive. On another note, it looks like Cole and Kendrick are quietly asserting God into mainstream hip hop beyond the superficial means for the first time since Jesus Walks.
Cole World.

I thought Cole produced every joint besides the two interludes.
Just to follow up on what I said here earlier, if No I.D. really did produce "Let Nas Down" then it's time we give that man his props. He never misses lately, that sax![]()
Most topics sounding identical says more about you than Cole.
Cause most topics are not the same but the underlying theme of the album is for the most the same, I.e. a cohesive album.
naw breh.
naw breh.
Cohesive is one thing but for it sound like your running out of shyt to say is completely different.
Cole just doesn't have "it".
I have tried to defend this man enough and everyone who was saying that he wasn't on par with drake was right![]()
