So basically nelly 2.0?

hell yeah, only difference is nelly regardless if you like him or not has classics...

country grammar nellyville....classics.

where as drake doesn't really have classics but you could speculate that so far gone was classic however that was a mixtape

I know a lot of N!ggas don't want to admit it but with these numbers it's time to talk about Cole being one of the BIGGEST rappers in the game. Ross ain't movin these units, Nicki ain't after this album. Waynes numbers will drop as well as Drake's. Cole fanbase keeps increasing. It's funny, dudes talk about his production or that he's "Boring" or puts people to "Sleep" but people were clearly wide awake when that album dropped. LOL @ rappers having 1,000 featuers and 1,000 producers. This dude does all his own beats and has zero to a few features and outsells a majority of the rap game and even music game. These are some of the biggest numbers of the year not just Hip Hop. Cole Won, Jay Won for taking a chance on the kid.

Don't get your hopes up. You have a much better chance of seeing more Migos and Rae Sremmurd acts than you do anything that resembles Cole. You remember when Wayne did 1 million his first week? People thought that labels would start signing nikkas that actually had bars but they never did. The fact of the matter is it's very hard to find good rappers that can actually write good songs. That's why no one has really bitten Wayne's style. It's much easier to be a Trinidad James type of act.

The current business model of the fly-by-night non-lyrical rappers is killing their pockets, in terms of record sales and barely breaking even with i-Tunes sales and 360 deals. They want that album money more than anything, or else more chapter 11s gonna be filed on these companies that promote trash.

Other rappers have too big an ego to admit that Cole is rap superstar status. :obama:

Some people rather die with pride, than to change with humility. :manny:

But he changed up the business model for Hip Hop, that I can tell you already. These other record companies are gonna tell their rappers to make better quality music and to make albums again, or else they gonna go broke.

Props for Cole doing it his way.. Didn't like the album but I appreciate him not having the same predictable collabs and leading with an obvious club/clear channel pandering single..

If the recent events don't change the tone of mainstream Black music then this generation is doomed....Maybe we still have hope...

There are people that play dumb by choice. They tryna go back to "business as usual" bullshyt on radio, but in the back of their minds, they know that the shyt that they promote is gonna come to an end.

This is the last album on his deal btw. Can you imagine the bargaining power he has now, for his next deal?
:ohhh:

From what I've seen, its the college educated black women who love Cole. Maybe that's why he's damn near 30 and still rapping like he's a freshman at St. John's :heh:
That's what I really don't like about Cole - that and the misogynist shyt. Dude stay bragging about college. It just gets old. And dude is always making odd comments about women that I'd let fly if it was from someone else. But how can you brag about being some smart guy while shytting on "dumb bytches" like he does?
