That's what happens when Hip-Hop gets too mainstream. I'm sure there's a similar line from the past but Cole's the one that got caught with it. So far this year Ross, Wayne, and Ye all got in trouble for lines and unfortunately I don't see it stopping.

as much as i think censorship goes overboard alot of the time, i also dont have a problem with cole apologizing on this one. i mean calling autistic folks retarded is kinda foul. i mean its enough that they have to struggle in life without folks randomly shytting on them.

LOL how did he "get in trouble" though? People have always had something to say about what rappers say, it's just that either people apologize, go to the creative license argument to explain themselves or they just say fukk it and KIM...losing endorsements isn't a punishment, saying what you feel like saying ain't against the law, and neither is dropping an artist from whatever plug if he/they become too much of a hassle for their customer base.

Yall in here acting like somebody forced his hand, he coulda just ignored the shyt, his apology seems genuine unlike ross trying to "bauce" his way through a sincere statement, I don't even like this nikka music but I can respect what he's saying. The line itself wasn't even dope enough to warrant being offensive, nikka should be writing an apology letter to his fans for being mediocre.

Exactly. No one forced him and hes not a 'bytch' for this. He has no endorsements to lose and he had the option to just keep it moving. He didn't want to and felt the need to say sorry. That's cool, hes a regular guy.

You guys want everyone to be hardcore and Hip Hop to be real edgy but that shipped sailed in the 90s. Its 2013.

I don't want everything in rap to be hardcore and edgy, but I do want for an artist to be able to say whatever they want without having to apologize for it. Where's the tea party members and public outcry about freedom of speech?
