hooks are definitely trash, more bland production,

Real solid project that has some gems. Favorite songs are BRACKETS, Once an Addict, Window Pain, and 1985.
Prolly only gonna listen to those songs from this album.
However, Cole really needs to start collaborating with folks. I know he prides himself on doing his own shyt, but he holds himself back sometimes.

Yep. This J. Cole KOD album is proving that eveybody can't just use the Migos flow and automatically make a good or catchy song. It's still a talent to it. This album slaw mane. Just cus u think it's deep doesn't make it good.

I'm lowkey pissed about the first half due to how good the 2nd half is.
The concept of the album is not necessarily "mocking" mumble rappers. If you don't have a stomach for those kinds of songs to begin with I don't expect you'll have a stomach for this one. This is the same thing with people who complained about DAMN sounding too commercial

Nobody is challenging him at all during his creative process. Dude really just makes music inside a bubble and thinks whatever he comes up with is the greatest shyt ever.
Even when he purposely tries to sound like other artists it still just sounds like tired ass same sounding J. Cole.
