Tell someone that you don't trust their opinion on said topic... then ask the same person for their opinion on the same topic brehs

:bryan:

I'm not trying to diss you, obviously you have a specific kind of taste/preference and I'm trying to figure out your stance on certain things so I can have a convo about the music

I'm starting to think that Cole is just a frugal ass nikka, and likes to do everything in-house to save the most money. That's why he looks so dressed down all the time :mjlol: all that cutting corners is cutting holes in his discography, cuz he hasn't had a decent album since FHD

At first I thought it was a Lil Pump diss but he's referring to a black dude, and if that's the case then I don't think it's anybody. I think it's supposed to be symbolic more than anything
i don't think he uses thecoli's definition of black. with hispanics, blackness is more malleable, cause race ain't even real to begin with, and if we talkin color, they speak a language of a ppl who blacker than us english speakers or the language of those who enslaved us, so ppl from spain more likely to accept darker ppl as still white. but all n all it's confusing cause it's all bullshyt.

what i'm tryna say is with hispanics, u can more choose if you're black or white. just pick your circle and the culture will follow. lil pump clearly chose.

u can call what im sayin bullshyt, but it's a thing

skip to 6:30 if u ain't seen this already:

Every rap album that has uptempo music isn't "trap".

There's a few of those tracks on here but not on DAMN, I wouldn't put that label on that

I didn't take it as a diss, just funny.

Damn was a dope album. And since you bring it up, the way Kendrick went about addressing the drug influence and sound in hiphop is how you go about doing it while producing records that stand by themselves.

Which is opposed to being on the "artsy fartsy" side of things that stans will prop up to call you a genius, but in reality, the records won't be played where the people you trying to talk to will be at to begin with.

Off 1st listen... This shyt lite.

The no features gimmick he's rolling with is holding the music back at this point.

He rather distort his vocals or come up with a persona to feature on songs than just letting someone else bring something fresh to the records.

The singing is subpar again, and just takes away from the songs. He has some nice verses sprinkled in here, but the project as a whole didn't really impress me much at all. 4YEO has higher highs than this album and that says a lot.

This felt like his version of DROGAS Light just with a lot less energy. I get the play on today's sound in hip-hop and mocking it with the repetitive hooks/messaging, but even when he did that it was like a boring ass take on it.

It'll be interesting to see how Cole's Stans receive this one for sure...

Yea he could easily get a R&B singer but like you said he wants to keep doing the no features thing
