Cole always been bad at singing and hooks. His label even knows this. He was supposed to sing the hook for, "Power Trip" (one of his biggest hits to date), but the label was like, " we got enough in the budget for Miguel fam, you good..."

He initially was going to sing the hook for Nobody's Perfect off of his debut album as well, and thankfully he reached out to Missy and she blessed that hook for him.

The idea that doing EVERY single song by yourself is only a great concept to people who don't realize that great things come from collaboration.

it's a niche album. it appeals to shyt i been through in my life. i like it.


his last album was niche too.


i think it's probably time for him to drop something with broader appeal, but maybe he doesn't give a fukk.

Cole in the last 5 years has reverted to his true introverted and reclusive nature which is who he really was all time. Now at 33 years old I doubt he gives a fukk about having broader appeal now, he is who he is at this point.

1985 easily my favorite song so far though. it’s weird to think of cole as an old head but man is 33. i remember when jay-z was like 35 and cam was accusing him of being 45 lol.

I wish i could get an edited version of motiv8 and ATM without the hooks. That shyt literally hurts my ears. It makes the replay value of those songs like completely zero.

And I thought started from the bottom now we here was repetitive.

Its better than 4YEO but so far for me:

FHD > Born Sinner > Sideline Story >>KOD>>>4YEO

Which sucks because imo up until the last two every album he was dropping was better than the previous one. Obviously FNL is the best tho

Not final thoughts but man this is...missing. Feels very condescending. He doesn't like drug abuse, his mom was a junkie, I get it. But the majority of his comments feel more angry and disappointed than anything else. There's not much empathy, and certainly no introspection since he apparently hasn't done drugs outside of weed.

"Meditate, don't medicate." That's your solution?


Hooks are bad. Beats sound like bland Cole beats that don't bang like you'd expect.

Gonna be listening more this weekend but on first listen I'm not impressed.

Album pissing me off cause he got incredible production and he rhyming but I gotta sit through some bullshyt melodies....thats been a trend I wish he deaded for a minute now.

How is that enjoyable for your ears? shyt annoying and remind me of Kendrick doing random goofy shyt on his records to be more artsy. U gotta relax....unless its done well like on Brackets
