Same problem I had as his last album. I like a couple songs but overall the shyt is just boring man. :yeshrug:It's like he's trying to be like Kendrick with these deep, concept albums but he just can't do it as well as Kendrick. :francis:I kind of get it though, Cole is 33 and he's not the same dude as he was 7-8 or even 4 years ago. I respect the his evolution as a person but I'm just not feeling the music he's been putting out post FHD.

I've been a huge Cole fan since 09 and I always hated the "Nyquil, boring" jokes dudes always made about him on here but it's starting to ring true now. The music is just boring. I'll listen to it once to get the message but then I have no desire to ever listen to it again. :mjcry:
The last two albums dude has been rapping on the same slow and forgettable beats and boring flows. No energy at all. Where are the Apparently's? Fire Squad's? She Knows? God's Gifts? Rise and Shine's? Enchanted's? These new songs are just bland. Again, dude is in his 30s now, so his whole mindset and outlook on life has changed from back when he was on the come up and i respect that, but I'm just not feeling his music anymore and that shyt hurts. :to:
He should branch out and work with different producers. It still sounds like he’s doing all the production on his albums.

I'm seeing the hate. So is this one of those things where Cole actually made a listenable album (we know how The Booth hates on anything hard-hitting, unique and beautiful) or is this so trash that even Nyquil fans can't stomach it? :jbhmm:

2014FHD was conceptual too about the narrator (Cole) humble beginnings and raise to fame and how he's dealing with it.
true, but that message has much broader appeal as most people can identify with a come up.

not everyone can really identify with becoming a father and the message on this one is gonna piss a lot of people off. i'm not exactly sure i agree with the full anti-drug thing, but i see where he's going with it and like his execution.

but it's real @PhonZhi -ish if we're being honest. :dame:

Yeah, I agree .. As a Cole fan since The Warm Up. I remember that rough patch when he was clearly searching for a hit before Sideline Story dropped "Who Dat" comes to mind..

Now he's at the point where he's had enough success and his fan base is big enough that he doesn't have to chase a hit and make cliche radio songs... He can do him and not worry about what everybody is doing
"Who dat" was hard to me.

I don't like it. :mjcry::mjcry::mjcry::mjcry:

Lyrically, he's doing amazing, but for some odd reason, I'm not catching the vibe. The beats, production, whatever is just very one-note/flat for me. Solid work, just not for me.
