I'm not really feeling it.
I understand the message, but;
- He spend too much time "parodying" modern Rap music ... I got as repetitive as the real thing
- Yes, J. Cole, you need features or atleast different producers (Ya'll don't wanna hear Cole on a Primo or 9th beat)
- I'm sure Cole really loved DAMN
- The whole idea of him going in on drug use in society, then being like fukk politics shows me Cole doesn't really educate himself. These white folks killing themselves use politics to fix it. No, voting isn't the gonna work by itself (see Doug Jones), but, you're a millionaire, I'm sure the 'Ville would like you speaking on their behalf with them Jay-Z politic connections (see Meek Mill).
Boring is a useless word. Cole can still spit, but, I felt too many times,
damn fam, I get it, make love, not drugs, DARE to be difference, just say no
3/5 - Not a bad album, great idea, I love the sequencing, but,
it reminds me too much of DAMN
