Who gives a fukk about "platinum" singles in this day and age. I can get with the "new rules" album sales, but singles are songs that make playlists/that get played ad nauseum, streams are too easy for a single, save that shyt.

The single plays are included in album sales. Get a certain amount of streams of one song, they call that an entire "album" sale.

Not a big J Cole fan but I always applaud when he does well. I think it's important for his music to do really well to bring a tiny bit of balance back to mainstream Hip Hop.

Labels dikk ride sounds, styles, and directions. When J Cole sells a lot of records making a non gangsta rap, non flashy, more down to earth album not every artist pushed by record labels will be Future clones.
