You cats mad harsh on this one. But I hear you.
dogg, id be surprised if the few dissenters in this thread rep the majority of people that will listen to this interview. the wierdo shyt (k gates...respectfully) and stories of way back when (cormega...chuck) are cool, but the reason i've long assumed you dont have a lot of new school cats on is because of their lack of depth. who wants to listen let alone talk to someone that doesnt want to engage in talk about anything aside from a stack of cash and a big ass? like really engage in a dialogue and offer honesty? aside from cole and the tde dudes, there arent many young mainstream acts that a) people that listen to your show want to hear b) have much to say BASED ON THEIR MUSIC. you can never judge a book by its cover, but the linear notes to a young thug tell me about enough...

the interview was good, but if i wanted to hear about the puff fight, i'd listen to the breakfast club (and i did and you still got more out of him than they did...but, i digress)

keep up the good work.

That's exactly why he chose them. He doesn't want people to ask him about those types of things. I wanted him to do an interview with the breakfast club b/c they ask about everything Ex.. I wanted to hear about why his fiance was on wheel of fortune yesterday or his engagement so that his other women could get angry and spill his information. I'm sure charlamange would've asked about those things. He asked about him and that diggy situation.

I didn't listen to the whole thing. I shut it off after what he said about expectations and relationships. I was kind of annoyed after I heard that.
who cares about his fiance? why are you so concerned with his relationship? :why:

anyway, i don't fukk with these combat jack internviews, always too long, i don't have the time for it, hopefully one of yall hooks up the cliff notes

I threw the Puff question in because I really wanted to know what happened. I wasn't joking when I said wifey was there that night and almost broke a heel scurrying from the scuffle. AND I wanted some gossipy type question to feed to the savages.

I'm always open to suggestions, but I also know The Combat Jack Show ain't for everybody.

disagree. clearly he's following very few of these imaginary industry rules and thriving despite it from less press to no club single to keeping his private life-private. that was the point of the whole interview about how he's broken away from this archaic view of the step-by-step to be successful and instead he's following his heart/instincts which has led him past every other rapper, last year. instead of focusing on satisfying that age old laundry list he focused on his music, then released it and it worked better than any other rapper's super-saiyan viral campaign.

I'm really not sure which part you disagree with. Maybe you should have bolded it.

If you're talking about the part where I said being extremely private won't help. It won't. & Notice that you said he passed every rapper LAST YEAR. I don't really remember any popular rappers (drake, jayz, kedrick) putting anything out last year, so that more than likely has something to do with it. & he did do things to promote his album. The ferguson visit and him being spotted at the protest helped a lot. Him popping up on people, promo. Him inviting people to his old home, promo. His angie interview helped too, that was afterwards though.

Lots of people would like to know more about that. Especially because he's always talking about how he cheats on her in almost every song. &She's been mentioned in blogs quite frequently this month (4times on mto).

Are you a man or a woman? Cause you sound like you just want hair salon gossip. If that's the case, your fruity ass should just listen to Wendy Williams or TMZ gossip nonsense.

I am a woman.
@Giselle

Did Cole smash and not call you back or something? You stay in every Cole related thread shytting on that man

:mjlol:
LOL
I like his music and I used to think he was a good person. That's why I'm always in his threads. I used to neg everyone everytime that they said something even slightly negative about him.
I don't mean to shyt on him. I guess I'm just disappointed. I thought he was one way, but he's really the other. I'll get over it. :(

The crazy thing about this interview is that Cole moved close to 800k and it's impossible to tell :blessed:
Dude is gonna outsell Sam Smith, Ariana Grande, One Direction, Lana Del Rey, and most of these machine driven artists. :blessed:

Still not fukking with Piñata and RTJ2 though :childplease:

I'm a J. Cole stan, I've read and/or peeped every single thing about this album as I do for any of his shyt. I still to this day don't know why there are no features on this shyt. I still don't know why he has never really ventured out of his Dreamville circle for production. I still don't know where that Kendrick project is that he's been talking about for two years. I don't know what his situation is now his Colombia deal is up. What's good with Bas? Or that new nikka Cozz?

I duno dog, I feel like I've sat through two hours of this shyt and I don't know anything new about dude. Hell, dude even got engaged few weeks ago right? No mention.

Two hours with someone who doesn't do press is a long ass time. I feel like it coulda been used better :manny:
That's a good set of questions, however they're not any type of 'squeezing'.

What you want to know is why he does solo albums and why he as a producer produces his album, fair enough.
While most people want to know why someone like Kanye doesn't produce anymore, you wanna know why Cole produce, sounds a bit ironic.

It's a J. Cole interview, why would he ask abut other people?

The Kendrick album is a good question, but they've talked about it about 150 times and its always the same answer.
The latest was "hopefully we both have some time after these albums" and Kendrick has not dropped yet, so it's still at that.

I don't mean to shyt on him, I just don't like cheaters/manipulators & I found some things out about him that made him seem kind of phony & it annoys me when people praise him for things that I think he shouldn't get praise for, now that I know. I guess I'm just disappointed. I thought he was one way, but he's really the other. I'll get over it. :(

You got two hours of interesting questions about the man's career, his thoughts and feelings on a variety of issues, and all you want is gossip about his wife.

This is why women should be seen and not heard when it comes to hip-hop

I don't think you should blame this part on the interviewer. He would try his hardest to avoid that question.
He didn't even answer angie when she asked if he has a "real love" (mentioned in his song). He has a gf/fiance, but swerved the question. He used to always answer when people asked him that.
