She threw a shot at Kendrick and Cole first and now that he gave her attention she better not hide behind “I’m a women”. He wasn’t mean or hateful when a addressing her. Those chicks on twitter making this bigger then it needs to be and it’s getting on my nerves.

My G just do yourself a favor and don't let it get to you

Bruhs, I will always champion for the voices of Black women/people to be heard and respected, but I’m confused as hell right now. Cole is getting slaughtered on Twitter. Am I wylin’, or did he simply provide insight?

I respect and understand the vast importance of “reading the room.” But do we not run the risk of policing art—especially a genre that has historically voiced it’s grievances—and in the process compromising the integrity of the product? Cole’s criticisms were not personal slights. They spoke to the need for a well rounded pedagogy.

I don’t know, bruhs. If I’m trippin’feel free to call me out.

I understand shaming illiteracy on new leftist stances about hot button issues when everybody is sharing resources online but "radical" ideas like police abolition were not well known 2 months ago. I don't know exactly what Noname has said in the past, but learning can be a very exclusionary process, so Cole is addressing this attitude of soapbox activism which he perceives creates enemies out of the same black Americans she's trying to help. I also think it's fair to say Cole is off-base in making a song about this of all things in the midst of everything. But he's not wrong either; consider the fact that most people get their political takes from 280 character tweets - what does that tell you about education in this country? And how much more is lacking in the common pedagogy?

You right twitter has went from supporting one another with these protests and saying how much we should love one another, to a gender war about black men and women in the last 3 days. It makes no sense how much they let stupid shyt distract them from the main problem.

If they were honest, they would tell you it’s not even about Cole. They are bashing any man that is going against what a black woman says, even if the woman is completely wrong. Twitter has done a complete 180, something is different these past few days compared to the past few weeks.

this what she tweeted right after George Floyd died

EarxKxzXQAUUIzf

Thanks for posting this I was trying to find this tweet but did not know she had deleted it. I don't understand why she would attack Cole or Kendrick in this way as if they have not been using their platforms of music for years now to speak on the issues that black people face and to try to uplift the black community. So because they did not post a tweet that just washes away all of the other stuff they have done up until this point.

Like many of yall have said, J. Cole went to Ferguson, and he and Kendrick both took part in protests after the death of George Floyd. At the end of the day what is a tweet gonna do. Everybody putting up tweets to act like they care about change but we have seen action from Kendrick and Cole that goes beyond a tweet.

I don't think the track was a diss either, he was just giving his perspective and he even said he could be doing more, but her calling them out does nothing to help the movement. I could see if she had called out certain other rappers, but calling out Cole and Kendrick makes no since...
