Can't be true.
4YEO basically did 500k first week, and KOD's breaking all these streaming records on Spotify and Apple Music... how is it projected lower than his last album?

Lower physical sales. If I remember correctly, 4YEO did like 300k physical first week. Also you gotta remember streaming are a marathon race, not a sprint. He came out the gate with huge first day streaming numbers and then kinda tapered off enough.
Another thing to remember: this is an early estimate. The first DAMN estimates were around 400-450k. It ended up doing 603k. I still think Cole will do at least 450k.
Logic has the biggest 2nd week drop of now doesn't he?JCOLE 4YEO: 2nd biggest drop-off of a #1 Album in its second week Of all time. Down 82%
The real question is will this project have legs. 4YEO holds the record for biggest 2nd week drop off in music history.

The numbers are pretty transparent. Really the only thing that strikes me as ducktales are single sales applying to total album sales. But luckily at least those aren't applied to first week album sales. For instance, Cardi B's album sold 200k first week...but is already considered gold because the sales from Bodak Yellow would get her to 500k. So she'll get a plaque even if she never reaches 500k off album streams. That's wack and needs to be changed. Let singles be singles, and albums be albums.
