all these numbers arethese days. who knows what the truth is anymore.
all we need to really know is these streaming services found a way to eat while these artists probably out here seeing pennies off this shyt again.
The numbers are pretty transparent. Really the only thing that strikes me as ducktales are single sales applying to total album sales. But luckily at least those aren't applied to first week album sales. For instance, Cardi B's album sold 200k first week...but is already considered gold because the sales from Bodak Yellow would get her to 500k. So she'll get a plaque even if she never reaches 500k off album streams. That's wack and needs to be changed. Let singles be singles, and albums be albums.

Best Buy.
The label didnt ship any physicals to Best Buy because in July Best Buy is going to completely stop selling CD’s. The only physical musical entity the company will continue selling is Vinyl.
Without Best Buy, CD’s are basically dead.
So artists who traditionally sold a good number of physicals are now basically living off streams.
NEVER understood how that made any logical sense...
