btw, I have been a fan for years and years, but I never heard this entire album until last week when I FINALLY decided to download it. and I must say, that this is EASILY his magnum opus. I used to think fantastic vol 2 was the best shyt he ever did, but this is much better than that is. just ridiculous.

yeah, donuts is just somethin' special. the way he chopped those samples was excellent

If you're a real producer you know the beats on donuts cant mess with anything from Fantastic.
Donuts where just sketches. Not full tracks to me.

he should have actually had cats rap on these tracks tho. however, I have no problem just listening to an instrumental album.

to be honest with you, i love the album just the way it is. it showcases j dilla in his essence as a producer. donuts is truly his best work on cd imo

it's the 1 instrumental cd that doesn't even play out or sound like a typical instrumental cd and maybe that's because we hadn't heard anyone rhyme over the beats beforehand. but that album is perfect to me, a classic.

i'll admit i didn't start listening to dilla till after he died, and when i 1st heard donuts i wasnt that impressed..but then i downloaded his whole discog , and haven't stopped listening to him since.

Even got my fiancee listening to him
