The mob was definitely pressing celebrities to "come have a drink at my bar" (or else). They were definitely supplying prostitutes. They were definitely running the gay bars that celebrities would sneak into, and they were definitely taking pictures of lewd acts for future use.
The JDL was threatening rappers (and rock artists) BEFORE "rob a rapper" was a thing.

That may be true, but they weren't advertising it for clout. Gangsters of that time shunned attention. It was bad for business. Only in Hip Hop do you see dudes openly popping their suspenders. Even the phrases used, "I'm gangsta" or "that's gangsta" is doing too much.

I remember old CMW and Quik videos. The untrained eye couldn't detect affiliations. Nowadays artists can't wait to tell you what flag they represent. It's part of the act. Same with telling folks they need to check in. Folks doing too much.

So how does that work? Does J Prince send out emails and text messages saying," if you see a dude with a receding hairline and struggle mutton chops and jewelry, do not touch." ?

This whole thing shows how dysfunctional the culture is. Gotta check in. Stupidity. Only in Hip Hop.

some artist get extorted for different reasons, its not always the case when you cool with people, everybody checks in when they coming from out of town and touchdown and get with people from that city they fukk with

yall don't do shyt in music industry and never made no money in this shyt, stop talking about shyt you don't know about and listen

and if you hot in the streets like that, paying J Prince for Protection is better than getting shot lmao

Do Rock, Country and top 40 cacs have to check in when out of State?

:mjpls:

Never. The whole concept exists only for black hiphop artists.

not true really

the mafia was running pockets long before nikkas like j.prince etc.

see they kept it low & evolved into contracts & paper.gangster tactics

the record business & major labels have criminal roots ha

They didn't have social media then, but I'm sure Lucky Luciano wasn't putting out newspaper ads or radio commercials telling Clark Gable he gotta check in.

Gunn usually around BunB or Sauce when he in the H. And Sauce bring youngins with hammers around. So I'm sure he got an ear to the streets about what happen.

And Prince looking funny in the light.

Gun Imprint from Lil Baby Clutching Gun in His Hoodie While in Houston Taking Pictures With James Harden and Bun B Goes Viral

Is Lil Baby paranoid? The gun imprint from Lil Baby clutching a gun in his hoodie while in Houston taking pictures with James Harden and Bun B is going viral. At first glance the photo looks normal, but when you look closely you can see the imprint of Lil Baby’s hand holding a gun in his hoody very tightly.

Some people believe Lil Baby is one edge due to the recent shootings in Texas. Take at look at Lil Baby’s gun imprint in his hoodie.

While it could be true that he is on edge due to the recent shootings, Lil Baby has been clutching guns by habit for some time now. About 8 months ago video footage leaked of Lil Baby driving while clutching his gun when a fan pulled up on him to pay homage.

It’s clear Lil Baby stays strapped no matter who is around him, nothing wrong with being extra cautious. Rappers have to move smarter these days with the way they are getting shot left and right in random places, especially in Texas.

You're trying too hard. Ain't got nothing to do with hating black people, but go get your daps. Dudes been extorting, we know this. But only in Hip Hop is it advertised. Prove me wrong :smugfavre:. Some people do it, some people advertise about doing it. :jawalrus:

The only difference really is we call it "checking in" for whatever reason while the rest of the world simply calls it "extortion".

The "checking in" part is tricky with gangs always.

But checking in with J Prince when in Texas - or say Rick Ross in Miami etc

I feel is fine. I feel they could be trusted. Especially J Prince. Griselda would have been 100 percent good to build with J Prince. Thats what I feel.
Ain't nobody checking in with CO Ross in Miami shut yo bytch ass up. You better check in with Zoe Pound in Miami fool.
