its disgusting what has happened to the infrastructure in NYC. NYCHA is only part of it. a large part of it, but still.
i think it's systemic and all by design. our trains, the roads, housing, even the closure of Rikers... they're trying to usher in the privatization of everything. after decades of mismanagement and institutional failure, especially after the pension bubble bursts on the boomers who are going to be retiring...privatization will unfortunately be an easy sell . just wait until corporations sponsor certain train lines or subway stops and we'll be bombarded with ads over the loudspeaker on our already brutal commutes to and from work
