The big thing I notice about Wiggins are things that can be improved with time, coaching, and training.

If you look at his mechanics of his shooting, his form is pretty good. A little stiff but good. He has a nice step back jumper too.

His ball handling is suspect but it's something that can be improved. He's like Durant in the sense that his extreme length and span mean that he's just not used to dealing with actual ball hawks. He just needs to work on being in more control and knowing when to extend his steps for maximum stride or shorten it for more control.

If you look at his defense, you see that he has great footwork and lateral quickness so he can turn that it into better ball handling.

I see Jabari being a Pierce / Joe Johnson type. Good to great for most of their career. I see elite potential in Wiggins.

we may not see eye to eye about LeBron but I find myself agreeing with you on other NBA related topics. co-sign on the Durant/Wiggins comparisons with regard to ball handling. I find it funny how everyone forgets Durant's handle was suspect his first season. Dude improved alot in year 2. Then went to another level the last couple of years gaining one of the most sublime handles in the league.

Wiggins will do the same.

My Pops Forever RIP
dude just lacks the lateral mobility to stay with dudes on the perimeter. you can't preach quicker feet onto a nikka. dude will always be a liability.

That's not what I'm talking about. You could be limited as he'll defensively and not be an absolute sieve. Lack of lateral quickness shouldn't be an excuse if a guy is left wide open or if his opponent has an easy drive to the basket. That shyt can be covered by sheer effort. He doesn't have the skills to be more than average on D, but be average on D.

We don't agree about Lebron because we appreciate different aspects of basketball and you're admitted Lebron hater.

The only thing that worries me about Wiggins is his motor. He seems timid on the court and you can almost tell exactly what kinda game he's gonna have by his first three plays of the game. If he gets a nice transition dunk or knocks down a great shot, he's on for that night and vice versa if he has a costly turnover or missed around the rim.

I agree. But he seems to step his game up when personally challenged. I'd say look at his matchups with Julius Randle in high school. Everyone agrees Randle is a beast and has his motor at 100 all the time, and I found it interesting that Wiggins pretty much dominated him locking the bigger/stronger Randle multiple times.

Wiggins also showed up against Jabari and Duke in the second half. He also played well in that week following when Embiid got injured. I suspect that because things came so easily to him against lesser athletes, he didn't develop that natural motor to goes hard all the time. However, I do think that when challenged he has the ability to raise it up. At the next level, there will be no pushovers, and he'll be challenged. I expect him to raise develop a more consistent motor.

The thing is that it's very hard for players to develop a consistent motor. Melo is a great example. He would show out against Lebron but wouldn't do as good against half the other people in the league.

Consistency or a never say die attitude is needed to be elite.

Lebron is a dude with a consistent motor. He would do a little extra if he was going against the Lakers or when his back was against the wall but he typically has a very consistent motor that he can turn into overdrive, at will. Wade was also like that.

Kobe and Sabo are dudes with that never say die motor. They're always at full attack, no matter how good or bad they are. Their obsessive motor is what defines their gifts.

Wiggins seems like he has a Melo-motor which worries me.

fair enough. its my only drawback to him reaching his ceiling as well. but even if dude doesn't improve much going forward, he'll still be as good as Paul George is RIGHT NOW. thats why I take him at 2 and don't think twice. he'd be my #1 over Embiid if he had a Kobe/Bron type motor.

I agree with you to an extent...I still may go with Embiid depending on the coach I selected and his system and if I beleived he had superstar potential.

:cigwhat: you called embiid a poor mans dwight when hes already got a better post game than howard?

And this is exactly why I think Embiid will in the long run be better then dwight he's longer (nh) has better offensive skills, can hit free throws, can block shots at a good clip, can hit the hooks, and has post moves. I think he is better coming into the league than Dwight Howard and has as much of a motor as Howard to be good so at minimum he will be on the same tier as Howard and at what I expect he'd be better.

I'm seeing a more athletic Paul Pierce when I look at Parker. He will have an excellent NBA career.

so ya'll wanna take a dude #1 that'll be a liability defensively?

Jabari will drop 20ppg as a rookie. But then again he'll also give up 25ppg to any decent 3. And if nikkas try to slide him to the 4 to hide him, I saw dude get eaten alive in the post by undersized bigs all season. As crazy as it is to believe, his post defense might be worse than his perimeter d.

to me the top 3 picks should be Embiid, Wiggins, then Exum. I wouldn't take Jabari before the #4 pick.
i hope thats how it goes.....jabari to the magic :lawd:
