Because the unfortunate reality is that there are other cities in Mississippi dealing with the same predicament as Jackson. I keep telling people that there are even poorer cities in Mississippi than Jackson that you’ve never heard of.

The fact that it’s the capital means nothing in the grand scheme of things because the people in power don’t actually leave there and couldn’t care less about it.
