Folks this is on purpose

“After the storm last year, leaders of the majority Black community begged the state for $47 million for water and sewer repairs, but the legislature gave them only $3 million. The Environmental Protection Agency also recently announced $74.9 million in federal water and sewer infrastructure funds for Mississippi. However, the mayor says it would take $2 billion to fully repair and replace the dated system that has too much lead in its water.”
Flint, MI all over again.

Bruh it’s so many cheap places to live in rural areas of Georgia, Alabama, the Carolinas & Tennessee that are full of black folks but a lot of folks not ready to live life at a slower pace.

People with the right mindset and money can turn those areas into something amazing away from all the BS

They don't have in roots in the south so they are on the outside looking in.

They really don't understand the culture either.

We need more Black folks to move down South now more than ever to consolidate power because the demographic changes in this country is not working in our favor.

Ideally 90% of Black Americans would live from Louisiana to Maryland/Virginia.

Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, Maryland

when people on this website advocate brehs going back to the south and living in concentration in Black Areas they fail to account for the fact that people had already been there and left in large migrations for a reason. The type of targeted neglect that is visited on places like Jackson and Flint is hard to do in mixed demographics

What type of retard logic is this? Equating the great migration in the early 1900's to our political and economic agency today. What action are we supposed to take according to this kind of response? Move to as many 'mixed' areas as possible and have even less say in politics than we do now? What kind of 'targeted neglect' do poor cac areas like these destitute Appalachian towns avoid by being majority white or 'mixed'.

Alabama Mississippi and Louisana have some of the highest black populations in the country and they have no power there due to gerrymandering. At some point congress has to step in and fix the voting issues that actively oppress and de power the black vote(gerrymandering, voter ID laws, shutting down voting places, shutting down dmv’s in high pop black areas etc) going on the south.

Encouraging more black people to move into that racist ass states isn’t the answer. All that will do is put more black people in harms way which isn’t the answer.

I considered moving to Jackson for a nanosecond.

You'd think that Biden Infrastucture money would fix this, If the money is earmarked then it shouldn't be a problem.
The federal government didn't leave guidelines on how to disperse the money...

So states I'm sure be corrupt and be on some bullshyt before that money gets to where it's supposed to go.

Because he have higher concentrations of poor Black people. Instead of fleeing educated Black people need to stand ground and fight for change because it will benefit the majority of Black people. If you could flip Alabama and Mississippi that would go a long way.

If you are not FBA/ADOS I'm not really interested in having this conversation with you though.

this is all down to politics as usual. city workers and council should never have let it get that far.

heads need to roll.

But blacks face different types of NEGLECT everywhere. Literally. There isn’t a place in the US we can go and not face certain levels of legal discrimination.

“ they fail to account for the fact that people had already been there and left in large migrations for a reason”

Are you seriously talking about the great migration? Martin Luther King Jr himself said he never faced as much hostility him up north like he did until he started going to the Midwest and the North. Most blacks went to the Midwest (Chicago is the most segregated city in the US) and Wisconsin prisons 1 in 36 black adults, the worst in the country. Don’t get me started on places like New York and Cali and the amount of “targeted neglect” blacks face there.

Depending on what stats you trust other than Aurora, Illinois and Indianapolis, IN, every other city where African Americans are thriving are literally down south where we have the most numbers.

That’s a fact. shyt im willing to bet the majority of citizens in Jackson are good people but most won’t rock the boat or demand better because that requires effort and putting ego aside. Black people still waiting on a kumbaya moment, failing to understand that we don’t have to get along with everyone in order to make progress.

In my observation, the most obvious difference is that most well to do people don’t accept what poor people do because they put in work hard to obtain and protect their assets. Poor people work hard to protect their image.
