On a second listen now..
I’ll reserve thoughts about the music till after this. um laxed on RNB singers ..
But one requirement that’s essential though is you have to have some singing talent either technically or through delivery (melody, arrangements, vocal placement)

Chris Brown as nasal and thin as his voice can be sometimes, has a impressive ear (the first verse in Liquor w/the minor scale runs ..smooth)and good musicianship with his runs.. good stacking and vocal peaks too ..pause:francis:

this Nikka isn’t even Bryson tiller tier (who’s pretty mediocre as a singer himself).

Anyone know when Luke James goin on another cycle??

..RNB has some of the best male singers in contemporary music period ..besides gospel.

This ain’t cutting it for me on a vocal tip.
Musically/artistically he isn’t bad

It is, u right.
I'm just saying I'd rather listen to Sisqo cause he is a better singer and there's more of his songs that I like as oppose to Jacquees
But nothing wrong w/ listening to both

I get what you're saying. My R&B collection is 80% old school, but I do give new artists a chance. I have been listening to Jacquees for a while and he is definitely ann exxception who deserves to be given a chance by old heads because he tries to bring back that old r&b flavor back. He even reached out to Jagged Edge, Jermain Dupri and Donell Jones for this debut. That alone should tell you he aint trying to make microwave music. he's serious about this
:banderas:This is why I'm looking forward to the the Jacquees & Chris Brown mixtape. I know Jacquees gonna have Chris serious about this R&B shyt.

@stomachlines You should watch that 2-minute Jacquees Rap-Up interview clip I posted earlier in this thread: http://www.thecoli.com/posts/29621520/

That clip had me excited for his upcoming projects.

The road less traveled.
Not to sound like a weirdo but I prefer him rapping vs singing. I think he can sing but
I think him rapping is more entertaining to listen to.

tell me this "WHateva You Into" joint aint him pouring his heart out on Dej Loaf being a lesbian and not giving him any p*ssy :ohhh:

Now we done been on three vacations, nothin's ever goin' down
I kiss her lips sometimes on occasion, postin' up pics, we pourin' brown
She tells me I'm her type, her directions won't show
She got her people tellin' me that I should give up and move on, damn
But she promised me, that she was still in to guys
But my hearts tell me, that there's a woman in her life

damn, why she did Quee dirty like that:mjcry:
