I'm not gonna be mad at artists protecting their intellectual property.

/Thread

Dude didn't simply do a cover version, which would've been cool. The fakkit put out an entire video before she did and pushed that shyt hard on social media as if the song was his.

Dude practically forced their hand with that silly move.

Link to info about Jacquees putting a music video out for this?

EDIT:

Someone put me onto the music video:

:heh: That is low budget music video meant for WorldStarHipHop. People who are shytting on Jacquees are acting like it's music video that was gonna be put up on his official VEVO YouTube channel.

nikka you the one juelzing hitting me with paragraph after paragraph of run on sentences and no indentations

You brought up Wayne for some reason when what he did was nothing like this situation. In fact, Wayne pretty much helped Dej Losf blow up more with remixing her shyt (and actually remixing it... not using her bars or lyrics)

No Chickens???? A Parody song my nikka? FOH, with that lame analogy. No chickens was a parody from nikkas who couldn’t sing or rap that got buzz but wasn’t no where near as popular or taken as serious as No Scrubs

And again, its up to the labels discretion. Thats like Rhianna making a song and Chris Brown unofficially “remixing it”, seriously copying the song, taking her structure, beat, lyfics, etc., but singing it differently and its playing on the radio and interfering with requests of the original song.

What do you think would happen?

And how did he make it a hot song when it was already a #1 song nikka??

His video was up before hers and had like a million views. Hers is at about 4 million+ after a few days. The song without the video has 40 million views on YouTube. These nikkas is delusional breh :mjlol:

She should be mad at her label for slippin. How he got a hotter single than you and the video out before you? :wtf:

But he don't :gucci:

Her video has four times the amount of his (before it got taken down) and it's only been out for a week. :dwillhuh:

The non video version has 40 million views on YouTube :dwillhuh:

Her single is climbing the charts on billboard :dwillhuh:

Y'all fakkits are delusional af :dead:

I never even heard of this Jacquees nikka before I came across his remake of her song. This dude doesn't have the clout that y'all claim .:russ:

The Truth
"Him doing a cover is like a honor"... not if he fukks it up.

And you said he doesnt do it alot..well this is enough
T-Mix (T-Pain remixes) - YouTube
He didn’t fukk it up though, it was better... but Tpain doesn’t need to steal content to create a buzz...

He actually gets shyt stolen from him. He did it because he liked the song.

He also didn’t film a vid. They’re not sending him cease and desist letters.. are they?

And those remixes are like from a 15+ year career.. hes not remixing every hot RnB song. foh:mjlol:

Short-term, little picture thinking vs long-term big picture thinking failure

Short-term: this removes the more popular remix
Little picture: it's all about Ella Mai again

Long term: if she kept the remix alive, every time it plays listeners (subconsciously) also think of her music and it is another way of being relevant
Big picture: by letting other artists doing remixes she gets promoted, she stays at the forefront of the culture, she grows as a star, gets support on her projects

She and her label wanted it to be 1 way, but it's a whole other way. It's not like people are now going to think "I want to hear Jacquees' version, but it's not availabe, so I'll check Ella Mai's", no people are checking for Jacquees more now and are annoyed with her. What she should've done, is create an OFFICIAL REMIX with Jacquees on it and they should've shot a video for it. But.. they chose short-term, little picture. Could've turned this into a win-win..

She's not from the US getting a good foothold in that market, but you know it won't take much for the crowd to turn on her when she goes at a local US artist...

:francis:

On what planet does a popular artist need clout from some unknown, struggling ass artist that's signed to young money? :mjlol:

In the real world, her song is doing better than this dude's bootleg version on literally every metric :gucci:

The cease and desist order is not an expression of weakness. It's the label doing its job to protect their legal property.

The coli is like an alternate reality it seems.

Everywhere...You never there.
Now she will have to release a statement about it,and tell everyone how much she loves his version, even if she really was a little tight about it:lolbron:

But Jacquees been the king of remixing peoples shyt, yall ain't know? Hopefully this gets him some attention though, young man has been killing shyt for a long time now.But for whatever reason like Jeremih he just hasn't been embraced by fans at large. Maybe a little adversity like this will push people to want to be apart of his journey, everybody loves an underdog.

I guess I understand the label doing this with a younger artist, you don't know how many hits she may have left in her.Plus people can't say they don't like her version,or his is better when he's using the same melody she came up with:gucci:.
Well said .
