Technically that true but you know what I am saying. The overwhelming majority of dudes were on that street shyt. We cant act like things werent clearly titled in that direction. Mos Def, Kweli, Monch and others had some success but they werent anywhere near the biggest or most acclaimed. The biggest success stories were all on that gangster shyt and/or pop with the gangster still mixed in. Only real exception before the wannabe Nazi changed the game is Ludacris.This isn't true, Mos Def and several pther rappers of that era found success and didn't attach their image to gangsterism.
