He lived in Yonkers, and was around lord knows what, just because you come from a good home doesn't mean you can't do hood shyt if you live near or go to school with hood people
Yonkers hoods are tame compared to the boroughs now and then. They really only got one hood (South Yonkers)...it's a good place to raise a family and a place a lot of people from the city move to. Most black folks there are working class or middle class. DMX was really from the hood of Yonkers he from the projects on School Street.

Kiss was clearly a popular cool funny talented street adjacent dude that came from a good home and gravitated to the streets. Kiss along with Fat Joe are still one of the most "touchable" rappers there is where you couldn't be shocked if you actually ran into them in the hood even at their age today.

In Da 15th
Nas dropped out of school from 9th grade and was from an impoverished projects completely different.

I know. I was saying ‘well schooled’ in context of home schooling & reading.

Anyway, Jada being from a good home & going to private school doesn’t really matter since he’s from the Yonkers & he grew up around a lot of the things rapped about. The most important thing is that he applied his intellect to his craft & gave us something legendary - unlike today’s rappers.

There was a guy from here who was killed a few years ago (his killing made national news). He was a thorough youngin that was feared in his area & by his opps & he was really out there putting people on ropes. Funnily enough, this guy also attended one of the most prestigious private schools (a boarding school). It just happened that his parents lived in the hood before moving out but he was still caught up in the mix.

do you lack reading comprehension? where did i say that?

i said the majority of your thread are about artists outside the music (or artists you hate), but you always copping out that its about the music. you seek out bullshyt to post for whatever reason, or your algorithms be fukked up like that.

I post about everyone, whether I’m a fan or not. So I have to choose to what to post or not? These threads are for everyone. That defeats the whole purpose of making threads then.

Makes sense based on how deep his vocabulary is but he just doesn’t look it.

Nas is another one that sounded like it (he also has the looks) from the jump. His family wasn’t rich but you could tell he was well schooled & he’s an avid reader.

Regardless it doesn’t negate anything & they blazed a trail unlike these new rappers.
Nas mother had a good job as a post office worker but it was single income working class salary so they was able to still qualify to live in the projects. His father didn't live with him but he was a cultured, jazz player and that's something that helped shape Nas different than kids he grew up with. Nas is a drop out but he was a well read student of black consciousness movements since a kid and philosophical weed head type dude.

The QB nikkas say it themselves Nas had furniture, clothes, and toys they didn't have.

If we had to break it down by percentages on street rappers

I'd say the overwhelming percentage of them are like the The Lox. 80% were not heavily involved in the streets on a high level, but are from the element and grew up around street guys and have affiliations. Probably sold some drugs on a minor minor level, did petty crimes, but weren't anything important on the streets.

Then you got another 15% that weren't really involved at all, aren't from any hood and literally just made up a background. And through selling records and blowing up they were able to hire the people around them to make it believable.

Then you have the other 5% who are the genuine article, and really did and lived the life they talk about with the prison records and stories from other people who were in the streets to verify it being all truth. They're the ones that stick out like a sore thumb and feel like aliens.

If you have noticed I haven’t been making any other threads as much so I don’t know what you’re getting at saying that. Plus there ain’t as much newer music being released. I have threads on whole albums that sometimes get skipped over. You have all the access to the content I make on here, so I know you’re lying saying I only make threads on news. I can prove you wrong with the threads.

@Deltron since you don’t pay attention to the music threads I’ve made here they are and it was this past month or a bit longer I’ve made them.
