3.5 mic album I’m not going pretend this was a classic because of the vz

Now this sounds like somebody that was there.

2001 the streets were READY for Kiss to drop a classic. The bars, the features, the team, everything was intact.

Then this album dropped. Had hits, but obviously underwhelming. To hear Kiss talk about the recording of this album (using the supersized budgets of that era to record in plush spots in Miami and LA) reveals how it became the hodgepodge, "everything-to-everybody" album that it sounded like.

Don't get it confused -- songs like:

Show Discipline
We Gonna Make It
None Of Y'all Betta
Knock Yourself Out
Put Ya Hands Up

Are fire, but outside of "Feel Me" the second half of this album is one of the most terrible stretches of any album from the year, era or whenever. Kiss Of Death was definitely better, but the first two Lox albums > first two Kiss albums.

how do ya'll rate their solo discogs?

I think Styles is probably the best of the 3...I haven't heard all of Sheek's but from the albums I've heard he's consistent. Jada's mixed

To me, SP delivered on A Gangster & A Gentleman and that album set him up to have the respected underground MC catalog he continues to build. "Good Times" established a whole different lane for him, as he was already king of the jail raps.

Styles easily has the best catalog of the 3. Walk With Me has some has some cool songs, and After Taxes is very good, but Donnie G is putrid. Life On D Block is surprisingly good after revisiting it. Cosmos produces a lot of it and I really rock with him through Wiz and Burner. Jadakiss’ catalog is such a mixed bag. A lot of his albums are half dope, half shoddy commercial attempts.
Great takes. Did you hear Igantius? It was actually pretty good.

And Time is Money and Super Gangster Extraordinary Gentleman were both underrated 2nd and 3rd albums by Styles. No one talks about Super Gangster and it had fire production and features.

I hate that he dropped that cohesive ass album this late in his career when people already made their mind up (great rapper, decent artist).

I did like Ignatius and it was a bit more balanced than his usual stuff. It was pretty mature too.

Always forget about Time Is Money, it was short but very good, but it sucks that so many songs leaked and 50 had Interscope in the Cobra Clutch

Glad I wasn’t a dusty “real hip hop” east coast purist...album always been a solid 4/5 for. Knocked most the tracks on this for months. All the “Jada never made a good album” rhetoric never hit for me, loved this joint.
