Back in the 1970s and 1980s, Jaguar had car issues where the mileage on these cars was well below 50,000. In the first couple years of ownership, owners of Jaguars had to get their cars repaired often. Not high mileage vehicles. That's where the whole "My Jag is in the shop" joke originates from.i hear you but you tell me any car at that range that has ovefr 100K miles that the owner hasn't complained about mechanical or electrical issues.

I'm not saying Jaguars are total pieces of junk. My friend's father had one. The previous owner swapped the engine out for a Chevy engine. Anyway, the interior was very elegant and the seat felt like fancy furniture.yeah i remember the 80's issues, didn't know it was from teh 70's too then in the 2000's they had some other issues with reliability
Can honestly say I've driven all the different engine ones the 340, 495, and 550 (I work at a Jaguar Dealership) People say the 340 is slow but I was never bored or felt underwhelmed in any of them.
