Jalen has some mechanical and progression issues he still needs to iron out. He'll move towards pressure in the pocket sometimes amd his accuracy has gotten better and he can make all the throws he just cant make them everytime. He'll hold it a sec too late cause I think he wants to make sure his guy is actually open instead of trusting his arm.

The thing about Jalen is he needs a coach and coaching. He's been in college 4 years and has had 4 different o coordinators (5 if you wanna count Sark NCG his freshman year). He has improved over the years and he has the potential the be a NFL QB with the right system and coach and team thats going to give him time. He's a gamer.
Is he a 1st rd pick Im gonna say yeah cause Josh Allen and Trubisky were 1st rounders so why not? Realistically he's a late 2nd-3rd guy. The best thing for him is to sit a year or 2 but the NFL isnt built like that anymore. If youre not a 1st rder you not getting that starting shot cause theyll draft someone new and shinier than you in the 1st.

I think his performance during senior bowl week will determine a lot on where he goes and what coaches think of him.

My worst nightmare is he goes to another NFC South team. That'd break my heart

Of course he's smarter than Hurts, he's been in a NFL system, Jalen is still in college breh :what:

You're comparing a college QB IQ, who hasn't played a down in the NFL to a QB that's played several downs in the NFL. come on breh :what:

College defenses and NFL defenses are not the same. :what:
Has zero to do with being in an NFL system. You can’t teach pre snap reads and automatically seeing mismatches. I’ve been to over 70 NFL games, and it’s something you either have or you don’t. Dak (DAKOTA) impressed me reading pre snap when moving pieces around.

you can make all the faces you want, many football players are stupid

Many football QBs are not stupid breh.

You don't be a stupid QB playing in a OU and Nick Saban system, but I'll let you run with that narrative to try and save face.

We are talking about to QBs, one that's in the NFL and one that's a SR in college and you're comparing the 2.

Ok.

Pre-Snap reads are taught in film session breh. But I'm let you rock that narrative and mind-set.

Anyone/Most can seek out a mis-match breh, let's not run over common sense

Nah dog. Many qbs are stupid. I’ve seen Ryan Fitzpatrick, and others. Dak has a real mastery of seeing things pre snap. His problem is when that read runs awry and he has to go beyond that along with his inaccuracy. You can see if a qb has it or not but in college. Hurts get panicky when his first read is gone. I said the same about Baker at OU...and look at his play now.

Most likely wont happen. Shotgun has mostly taken over

Snap Rates: Shotgun v Under Center (OFF)

Not sure how accurate that is, but if it is, only 5 teams take the majority of their snaps under center vs shotgun.

And of 30 teams. Of those small amount of plays under center, 0 teams when taking snaps under center pass more than they run. So most likely he goes to a shotgun team, and the few snaps he'll take under center will most likely be hand-offs/pitches. Its still a skill he'll have to work on though.
And [according to that site], outside of the 5 teams that take a majority of their snaps under center, 9 other teams take at least 40% under center. So that's 14 teams that take at least 40% of their offensive snaps under center. Which is a pretty significant number. That's more than a few handoffs and pitches. Mind you some teams only really go exclusively shotgun on 3rd & longs, when they're down big, or in 2 minute drills at the end of halfs.

I don't think Jalen is completely incapable of running anything other than Lincoln's system but I'd be worried about him going to a team that's not going to completely build around what he's good at like Lamar. Sometimes these NFL coaches are stubborn and want to force players to play the way they want them to play, instead of play in a way that's the best for the player.

I really want to see OU win this thing. They probably gonna get massacred tho word to @jadillac

We're not gonna win.

At least 3 players suspended including best DLineman, part-time starting Running Back, and probably some depth players. Best DB just got hurt last play of practice he's out too.

Our D went from 129th last yr to 25th this year, but without all our horses I dont see ua winning. And Jalen doesn't have the ability to play shootout football like Baker/Kyler. And Without full rb stable we can't play clock control

It hurts.

You absolutely cannot compare Lamar to Jalen because Lamar is better than him at every single aspect of football.

Even "Jalen grown at OU" thing shouldn't be lining up for you when you compare Kyler's production to his. The only statistical advanges he has on Kyler are inflated. 2 point higher pass percentage (Jalen has 70 less attempts and Kyler's percentage was higher until the Bama game), and rushing yards (Jalen has more yards and TD's...but on 80 more attempts, Kyler averaged more per carry).

And those are just numbers. When you watch the games and look at how Kyler was moving through reads and dropping impeccable dimes all over the field whereas Jalen regularly gives up on winnable snaps and leaves the pocket/leaves open receivers there's absolutely 3-4 rounds between them. That's the gap right there between a guy you think is a franchise QB and someone who is a project.

And the "that's what they said about Lamar" shyt...ya'll talking like Lamar was slept on out of the draft. He was a first round pick and the starter before the end of his rookie season with an offense built around him. You're letting the hyperbole conflict with what actually happened.

Bet we'll know all their names next year when Rattler can move past his first read and get the ball to them  Rambo is legit and should have been a bigger part of their offense this year.

Thank you for knowing what the hell you're talking about. :wow:

I like Jalen but his numbers are misleading. He has better stats this yr than Baker and Kyler but he also called his own number on so many running/passing plays. And his passing yards aren't deep balls but 95% YAC. Granted our Oline is rebuilding but Jalen cant throw the deep ball with accuracy. And I see Dak being much more accurate

Rambo is an untamed monster. Early in the season he was putting up numbers but then Jalen got stuck on CeeDee as a safety blanket. Lee Morris is super good too. Gonna be an NFL player next year

All these suspensions amd now injuries right before this game hurt my soul. We had a real chance this yr with our defense, amd now ppl who havent watch OU football this yr are gonna see us get beat again and say "same old OU" :mjcry:

With all the odds stacked against us, I hope Riley bring out Rattler in a few packages just to throw it deep. Let those 2 5 star freshman wrs play. Let's play 2 deep at every position and see if we cant keep it competitive into the 4th quarter.
