Jalen Rose: Chris Webber Needs to Say "I'm Sorry."

I have many friends I grew up with and am still friends with, but even ones that I have grown apart from, they could call me TODAY with an issue, problem or grievance and I'll address it straight up.


In fact, I had a similar situations like this happen to me and one of my close homies I grew up with. Me and my man Jason went on a trip to ATL a few years back and he ended up doing some dumb shyt that ended up costing everyone some money and wasting everyone's time and when we got back home, other friends asked about the trip and I basically said we had fun but Jason kinda fukked us for a certain point. Jason was mad at me and didn't talk to me AT ALL for almost two years because he felt like "I put his business out in the streets". I didn't even know he was mad at me until his wedding was coming up and I got no original invite. As SOON as I was told he was mad at me, I called him up that hour and hashed it out with him, I felt like, man you cost us ALL money and time, I'm not mad over it, but you damn sure I'm gonna address it when asked, I paid the right to. We squared it away, but it did reach a point where things were heated, but we needed that to get past that.


C Webb ain't gonna have nothing but hate and anger in his heart until he addresses it, then he'll be like "what was I mad for all these years". My homie even admitted he was being immature and his anger was getting the best of him over it, but I get it because nobody likes to admit when they are wrong. C Webb is working through that right now.

I feel the same way.

No he doesn't. 50 knows EXACTLY why Floyd and he fell out. The difference is that 50 still likes Floyd and understands the difference between business and personal. Floyd didn't understand the difference and because of that, he actively starting disliking 50. 50's constant shots at Floyd is his way of goading him in a friendly way, but Floyd takes it seriously because he doesn't like that nikka no more lol.

And Jalen, just like 50, gets constantly asked about Webber, one of the biggest and most influential things either has done was when they were together. They are both intertwined together whether they like it or not. And Jalen is a very public persona, he can't avoid these questions without losing credibility. And keeping it 100, C Webb has his feelings on the issue, but Jalen does too. He doesn't see why they just can squash it over a conversation.

Webber is that dude to me and I think he still feels some type of way about how the whole thing went down between them and how he was blamed for a lot of things by himself. I always kinda worry that he's the type of dude to blow his brains out one day because he kept it all in and felt misunderstood by everyone involved. Hope I'm completely wrong though. Webber's always been my favorite from the Inside the NBA crew.

You are right, its not the same. Jalen has legitimate love for C Webb and is more than willing to forgive him IF he can man up to his transgressions that started everything. that was a deeper relationship than 50 and Floyd's, which was bickering was centered around money that grew personal.

but they are the same kind of issues. Jalen has legitimate concern to be upset with Chris, ALL of the Fab 5 do. And yes, that was the biggest professional (and probably personal) success the entire group had.

And Jalen only brings it up publically A.) because he's asked about it and is a straight shooter, B.) Webber refuses to talk to Jalen under any other circumstance so it can't be settled privately and Jalen has tried.


I just don't see any real justification for Chris Webber outside of ego and pride getting in the way. Someone has to take the L here, but it should be Chris's to take.
