Who was the last raiders draft pick to be successful. That's a toxic environment. Had to deal with a coaching change. Then he lost his father basically and he got lost in life. Dude was depressed. That's why he put on that weight. He wasn't to mentally play after he lost RayRay. Look how quickly he broke down crying just talking about it and its been 4 years since he died.
He can produce in the nfl I know it. But he doesn't get the chances other QBs have had.
More often than not in football, a players success is based on where he's drafted.

I know nikkas that used to kick it with Jamarcus on the regular when he was a Raider. These is nikkas from my hood that were/are drug dealers. nikkas used to come to the club with that nikka. They used to have pics with him in they phone and shyt. They used to call the nikka on speakerphone so everybody in the hood could hear it. Dude was supplied lean and other substances on the regular from dem nikkas. That nikka Jamarcus should've had no association with them nikkas. He was too hood affiliated when he was a Raider and anybody from Deep East Oakland can attest to that. You can't be a star QB with those kind of hood ties in a city you're not from.

Fam, 6 years from now we may be seeing the Demarcus Cousins sob story on ESPN. Both dem nikkas from the same city and it's amazing their names sound so much alike because they both like to do hoodrat things. Only difference is Cousins takes his craft more serious. The things that happened to JR has happened to plenty of people. Plenty of players have lost uncles and overcame it. If he was that heartbroken he should've stepped away from the game and retired and not collected the checks. He robbed the organization without a pistol.
Of course that's what he should of done in hindsight but at the time he admits that he was immature and he thought he had to show up to please everybody which put alotta pressure on him when he clearly wasn't ready.

He still looks closer to a offensive tackle than he does a QB. But there should be a place for him as a backup with his talent level. He should never have been a number 1 pick and there was too much pressure on him. But he has some skills and if he gets his self in shape he should make someones roster.
