I think my favorite comic book movie is probably TMNT from 1990 which managed to have moments of levity but wasn’t chasing jokes like a fukking Austin Powers movie.

At first I thought all the witty banter and shyt was because of whedon but he’s gone and it still happening so I guess it just the house style for Marvel. Spider-man does it the best (is this marvel?) but GOTG and Thor are terrible with it.

He's REALLY hit or miss, with more misses than hits for me.

Or just not giving a fukk about the universe concept and just making good movies and shows, and if they cross over they cross over and if they don't they don't that universe shyt is exhausting and now they all shoehorn stuff and especially characters nobody gives a fukk about just to feed the universe and dangle a carrot for the next movie

I agree a little, but DC would benefit a lot.

Their non-batman characters and stories could really use the movie stimulus. The entire company is being carried by batman, and a shared universe would let them keep leaning on batman while sprinkling in characters that are less promoted and getting them developed.

Marvel's issue is that they have a stable rotation of characters and stories people do care about and a lot of this extra shyt is filler.

DC's issue is everybody non-batman except for like 4 justice league characters might as well be filler. They need to get their weight up, black adam was a decent step towards that

I'll judge DC's success on how many characters they can move up to A-List household names.

Who's ready to breakout? Who can they get over the hump? That's what I'm waiting to see.

I don’t like his humor in large doses but his fundamentals of scripting and character work is excellent.

so as long he helps writers not just throw stuff at the wall he’s good for me.


DC has strong source material. Just bringing it over is a problem
