Scoop: Bottom line, you are on this team and a lot of players aren't, but in your mind, who is the best basketball player alive right now?
Harden: Myself.
Scoop: That's what I was about to say, "including you." You made that sound like it was an easy answer.
Harden: It is. Myself.
Scoop: Then here's the question: Are you where you want to be basketball-wise, even if you are the best?
Harden: Nowhere near close. I've got a long way to go, a lot of learning to do, improvements to make. Um, you know, as long as I'm listening and focused on the right things, I can reach my potential.
Scoop: So in your mind, you haven't reached [your potential] yet?
Harden: Not even close.
Not really.
You say that when you're the best player in the league, in the discussion for best player in the league, or were at one point the best player in the league. LeBron should say that. Durant should say that. Kobe should say that. Hell, Derrick Rose should say that. Harden should have just said "It's not up to me to decide." Or Harden should have just been truthful and said LeBron or Durant or something. I think Harden actually believes it though.
You can't actually WATCH the games and tell me you think James Harden is at the level Derrick Rose was in his MVP season.Derrick Rose's MVP Season
25pts 4rbs 8assists 48%2pt 33%3pt
James Harden last season
25pts 5rbs 6assists 52%2pt 37%3pt
Just saying
You can't actually WATCH the games and tell me you think James Harden is at the level Derrick Rose was in his MVP season.
And I'm a Piston fan.
